Do you think that once the T-Rex Cafe in Donwtown Disney opens it will mean less crowds at the Rainforest Cafe? I am sure at the begining it might be like that since it would be new and etc, however once all the hype about it ends do you think it will mean less people eating at the Rainforest, or would both locations be about the same in terms of guests eating there?

Deleted - sorry, I mis-read the question. But take my word for it, my answer was great!

I'm sure the effect will depend heavily on the cost and quality of T-Rex verses what you get at Rainforest, at least the RF at AK. As far as the one in DTD - I seriously doubt that it will have any impact at all.
I only meant the Rainforest in Downtown Disney because the T-Rex would be located in the same area, so I am not sure how it would effect the location at the Animal Kingdom?

of people don't realize is that you can call ahead for a table at RFC. Disney dining does not control the process so you have to call the restaurant directly. We've done this the past couple of years and the wait has been less than fifteen minutes in June and July.

Whenever my parents and I go to the Rainforest in DTD we always eat around 4:00 PM or 4:30 PM and they have always told us to either line up for the Gorilla room or the Elephant room. We do know that if you call them directly you can get a reservation, however the way we go always works and we plan to keep doing it.

MY hunch is that it being new and of a similar nature as Rrainforest, it will initially draw away some of those patrons. What the long term holds , of course, we'll have to wait and see.
