When staying at a Disney resort, how do you get into the parks early?

I know you have to show your park tickets, and resort key. Do oyu need a resort key for each member of your family? Will 1 key grant the whole family access?

Thanks!

Funny, they always give my kids a key, but have always been fine with seeing one room key. :flower3: This is when we enter from the GCH to DCA.

Thanks for all they replies!

I would have probably left my kids keys in the room, since they will be 8 and 6!

They used to not be so good about checking each person's room key but our last three trips they have been asking everyone.

During my trip a few weeks ago they repeatedly told everyone in line that they only want to see one room key per family. This happened every morning of my week-long stay. I would bring everyone's room keys since it's technically required and they could ask, but follow their directions when you get there.

Worth noting is you can have charging privileges only enabled on certain keys so if you want to venture into handing your kids keys and they lose them you aren't out anything but a trip to the front desk to replace the key.

Yes! so true!

However I would have left them not wanting to carry 4 keys around all day. So Im glad I asked!

Are you sure they were only requiring one key per family at the GCH during EMH? Because we only had to show one key while waiting in line for EMH at the esplanade but did have show every key at the turnstyle. At the GCH, not EMH, we had to show 1 key per family to get in line.

The policy is one key per person for EE...but enforcement of that policy varies from time to time due to a variety of factors...but I would not bank on any of those variations being in place when you arrive.

Yes, this was during EMH each morning, at both entrances. If I had to guess it would be that it was because it was a busy week and they wanted to get through the line more quickly. I expected every key card to be required because it's just too easy to cheat the system otherwise, but they were very clear that they only wanted one key. A couple of times they went through the line before opening the gates and told everyone to have all tickets but only one hotel key ready.

Like other things, such as what is a "snack"and can be brought into the park, it is up to the individual CM to make the decision, and some do things differently than others.

So the rule is One Key = One Person in, the CM on duty might decide to not check every key to speed up the line, but there is no way of knowing in advance.

Same with snacks, I would make sure they are in small containers and spread over the entire group, instead of in one bag. The rule says that Disney can basically refuse all outside food and drink, though they are somewhat flexible, but some CM's are more than others.

So be prepared in advance, and of course, Mom/Dad can hold onto all the tickets and room keys to do things like get FastPasses, to make sure they don't get lost, etc. Just need to have them at the turnstiles.
