Start looking and keep an wide eye open! We are flying in November (the day before Thanksgiving actually) and I got round trip on a major carrier (United) for much less than I expected given the day we chose to fly (I booked directly thru them as it was even cheaper than an online site like Travelocity). The price was comparable to SW or Jet Blue from Newark to Orlando and since my parents are driving down with our luggage, I didn't have to worry about paying fees. I booked 2 months ago. Good luck!
