When should I use my MM?

Our trip is January 15th-18th with EMH/MM on January 16 (Thursday) and January 18 (Saturday). We only have MM one of the days because we have a 3+ day ticket but we’re not staying on site. I’m very conflicted on which day to use it. ROTR opens on January 17 (Friday) and I want to make it a big priority and since it won’t be open for MM, I thought I would use my MM on the 16th (before ROTR opens) so I could focus on ROTR on the 18th. But with the way WDW is handling the ROTR opening with boarding groups, maybe using my MM on the 18th would give me a nice advantage? Are there any advantages to using MM on either day? MM is from 8-9 on the 16th and 7-8 on the 18th so maybe that will make a difference? Thoughts?

I’d personally use it on 1/18 to ensure that you’re in the park and ready to grab a boarding group (if they use that same system as they are for WDW) or to line up for the race to the ride. If ROTR is priority, that’s what I’d do!

While I am usually one to say use it as early in your trip as possible, in this case I would wait and use it on the 18th, just in case it might give you some advantage in getting on the ride sooner.

Thanks! I think I’ll use it on the 18th. I know that’s our last day and we might be tired but I tend to get more adrenaline on Disney trips than should be possible and the reason for this trip is mainly for ROTR.

Agree on the 18th which is also against what I would normally say (the 16th). And I normally would say don't spend your MM lining up for SWGE. But in this case, I think that's the way to go. At most maybe do one ride and head for a rope drop at 7:15ish. You won't be first, but the backup will grow steadily behind you. Based on previous Saturdays, they will start letting non-MM guests up Main Street at 7:30 to the ropes.

Now the question is: which rope drop to choose? It's hard to know because they may setup some new procedure for those first days. All things equal and based on pure distance, I think Adventureland would be my last choice.
