Hubby and I have decided to take our (will be) 2 1/2yo DD to DL in mid Oct. of this year (It'll be our first trip in probably 10 years and a first for her) ! I'm so excited and want to get to the planning now!! I also like REALLY good bargains though! We are originally from So. Cal. so getting the whole So Cal experience (with upscale hotels) isn't a major issue for us. I'm afraid that if I wait to plan things out, the closer it get's, the more expensive it will get. My BFF (who still lives in So Cal and hits up DL at least 4 times a year) says with the economy and people not really taking trips, I should wait to see what the deals look like only a couple months in advance. Is planning 10 months in advance too early to plan if we're going the "budget" route. We also only live about 5 hours from DL so it's not like we have to fly. Anything that I can try planning?? (I'm too excited to just sit here!)

You can always start planning out all the things you want to do and see, and where you want to eat- if you want to do a character meal etc. That is the most fun anyway :) And plus you can always start looking around at hotels and deals and see what's out there and get an idea of where you might want to stay etc. It never hurts to look, you might find an incredible deal now, but I don't think you'll be in trouble if you wait either.

Have fun! Check out the Food Porn thread if you want to start thinking about where you might want to eat...warning, that thread is addicting :goodvibes

Here is the link to the Disneyland food porn thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1253888&page=2

And trip reports are a fun way to pass the time too, and they might help you get ideas for your trip!

Food is ALWAYS a good place to start ;) Is there a way to find out distances between restaurants and attractions? I'm looking to see where the Lilo and stitch breakfast is and would it be more time efficient to do that the day we go to Disneyland or Ca. Adventures?? Did that make sense??? Thanks for the link!

Lilo and stitch breakfast is at the paradise pier hotel so going to either park works! The grand californian has an entrance to DCA but I think it's only for hotel guests early in the morning. The park entrances are right across from one another and an equal distance. :) I have heard really good things about that character breakfast.

Oh and it is never too early to plan. You can always book a hotel and then cancel if you find a better deal later. :)

Thanks for the heads up on the Lilo breakfast! Our trip will be smooth sailing (as if that could really happen!) and I'll have everything planned to a T in the next 2 days if I can't pull myself away from this board!! LOL

BTW, did I mention that I'm seven months pregnant right now, and that food thread is KILLING me!!!! My heartburn and gallbladder are already getting ideas and I'm trying to figure out where DH can find Beignets this late at night!!!! TORTURE!!! but so yummy looking!
