When should I call hotel directly for requests?

I already have a specific area request for our stay at POR with CRO. Gave them a few buildings in AB that I would prefer if possible.

We are checking in in 11 days... YEAH! Just curious if and when I should call the hotel directly to confirm our requests? As a side note, when should I also confirm ADRs?

My understanding, and someone will correct me if I'm wrong, is that the hotel receives your information 5 days before your arrival. So I would call within that 5 day window to confirm your information. I don't know what they do with special requests over the phone.
I would also call in that 5 day window to confirm ADR's and then at check in request a print out.
Man I wish I was 11 days out! But alas, I am 163!

There is no need to call and if you do the calls to the resort actually go to a call center anyway.

As long as the request is noted on your reservation, you don't need to do anything else.
