When resorts opened to DVC?

I was curious which resort opened to DVC when, say, what year OKW came up for sale, and what year BWV, and so on.

OKW opened in October, 1991.

Vero Beach opened in 1995.

HH opened in March, 1996.

BWV opened in August (?), 1996.

VWL opened in November, 2000.

BCV opens in July, 2002.

The unnamed DI and Eagle Pines projects are scheduled to open in 2004.

I'm quite certain BWV's opened July '96, because we stayed there in August '96 during a seminar at Swan/Dolphin & the BWV's had been opened for a month already.... But thanks for the other dates, it's always interesting to see the DVC progression!

Doc, did OKW actually open for guests in 1991, or did it open for reservations only with actual guest stays in January 1992 thus creating the 50 year 1992-2042 period?

If it actually had guests in Oct 1991, then I guess a lucky few get to have 50 years plus 4-months of DVC vacations.

My understanding is that OKW opened for guests on October 1, 1991.

My first stay at the resort (it was then called Disney's Vacation Club Resort) was October, 1993 after purchasing in June '93.

Since then we have continued to find more ways to plan trips to WDW (and have purchased many more points) and have stayed at all of the DVC resorts, with a trip to BCV planned for September.

According to the anniversary edition of the VM, BW opened July, 1996. The questions will be tricky with WLV as they opened for cash in 2000 and points in 2001.

From what I recall, when we joined at the start of 12/91, OKW was on the verge of opening.

We were given a February use year, which began in 1992.
