I posted this earlier but I think it was on a "thread within a thread" and I can't find it! Sorry to repost, but was wondering if you rent points do you get the owner's deeded unit or is this just a reference?

DVC is a points system. So we dont just get one particular unit when staying at DVC resorts.

There are studioes all the way to 3 beroom Grand Villas thats availible.
We own a fraction of the property a tiny little fraction,LOL.

We are deeded a unit number but it is meaningless other than for legal purposes. I wouldn't know if I have ever stayed in one of my units. What matters is the reservation conformation. If it lists the correct resort and room type and dates, you are all set.:thumbsup2

The "unit" with DVC is not necesssarily a specific room. DVC is a floating time/floating unit timeshare so no way to know what unit you're getting. I assume you're trying to set your view, there are a few situations where you CAN do that such as AKV and the savannah view or BWV for Boadwalk or standard view. Also for VB to a degree.

The deeded unit thing is for legal purposes only. Every time we stay at OKW, we get a different unit.

If view os what you're thinking about, really there aren't any (or very few) bad views at OKW.

If you want to request a view, request a section of the resort.

Personally, I prefer the Southpoint area. It is the farthest away from Conch Flats...the main area (main pool, restaurants, gift shop etc.) but it is very peaceful and close to the walking path to SSR & DTD. There is a quiet pool without a snack bar and a bus stop in the Southpoint section and most of the buildings have either a golf course or a woods view. We just got back from a stay in a 2BR in building 56 in the Southpoint section. It was the perfect location....close to the bus stop and the quiet pool, close to the entrance to the walking path, with a lovely serene wooded view.

My second favorite area is Turtle Pond. Another area that is kind of far from the main area, but all golf course views, quiet pool & bus stop in close proximity. The Turtle Pond quiet pool also has a snack bar.
