When planning your wedding, didja ever just snap?

At the moment, I am SO SICK of tying bows. It seems like I'm tying 5 million bows onto the bubbles, and the bows look horrible. ARRUUUGGHH!

I tried to do the tule (sp) with the bow aroudn the bubbles. After 5 of them looking like crap I said who is going to notice anyway and quit!

I lost it when I was trying to pick out centerpieces for the reception. I could not come up with anything and really didn't care by that time. So I told my Mom to do it and they looked nice. I just gave it over to her and forgot about it.

Yep, snapped yesterday. Seven weeks until the wedding and my fiance's brother/bestman decided to let us know he was coming to the wedding for sure. Thanks for all the notice! Cuz it wouldn't have been a problem to find a new best man this close or anything. Nope, not at all. (please note sarcasm)

I almost lost it at the florist's shop on the wedding day. The idiots had my wedding date wrong and the flowers weren't ready when I went to pick them up. Fortunately, they marked the date down for the next day and the boutonnieres were already done and they had the flowers for the bouquets. The whole shop staff put down their work and hand-tied the bouquets in like 5 minutes. But I was PISSED! Thank goodness they didn't have the date for the next week or month! I would have just grabbed flowers out of their refrigerator and ran!

So please make sure your vendors know when your wedding is!

Yep. I snapped big time. We had a list of 215 people of which just 75 were mine. The catering hall said this was the suggested maximum for the room we were in. Then, right before we were supposed to turn in our final list, my wife wanted to add 24 more people.

Not only would that have really cramped us, but it would have added 24 x $73 per person to the final bill.

All that money spent for one 5 hour party.... I would have been quite happy with a nice beef and beer type reception, and we could have had as many people as we wanted for about 5K..... not 18K! That would have been $13K more for a house down payment.

Yep, I snapped.

our planning was going pretty well, then it started to crumble about 3 week before the big night....


...the best man got into financial troubles (that's what happens when your "wife" decides to go out an buy a $4500.00 dining table-chairs not included-on your $12 hr. salary, and you're already in hock up to your eyeballs ) and decided to take it on the lam...

...one of the bridesmaids (best man's "wife) decided she better hide out with him...

worked out o.k.-called a neighbor and drafted her 8 yr. old son to be a groomsman (promoted another groomsman to best man) and paired him with his 10 year old sister as a bridesmaid.

less than 5 days prior...........

...church which was renovating chapel determines that the carpet won't be done in time, which means pews can't be put in (luckily mom in law found out she knew the carpet installer and got him to rush the job and volunteer to help put the pews back in)...

...church found out that the city inspectors would not come through for final inspection until 2 days AFTER the wedding. luckily it was inspection for disability facilities, and once we assured them we had no disabled guests they gave us the green light to go ahead...


day of the wedding....

...7th year of a drought ends with what is still referred to as (almost 15 years later) "The March Miracle". pouring rain, buckets, streets swollen with water...

...best man (New best man) is 30 minutes late, 45 minutes late, 1 HOUR LATE! finaly gets drug in by a friend saying "i don't care what you look like you are going to do this!!!". best man now has ORANGE HAIR-went to the hairdresser to have his "highlights" touched up, had a wierd reaction to the dye. best man looks like "howdy-doody"....it was the BEST thing that could have happened-it broke all the tension! i'm running around the reception hall singing "it's howdy doody time" as he chases me the wedding started on time (we had given a false start time to him cuz he was a chronicly late person) and we all had a blast.

so, relax..........nobody will notice if the bows on the bubbles are askew, if one of the bridesmaids dress's a little different, if they do chances are you won't even be in contact with them 15 years from now.

p.s. the one downside-the orange hair did not show up in the video or pictures! it looks normal

I snapped last week and had the mother of all hissyfits! DFH told me that we had to change part of the ceremony because his friend wanted it that way!!! I'm sure the people living 3 blocks away could hear me screaming. Then there was the time I snapped at FMIL because she kept telling me my ideas were silly and "what would people think!" . I look at my ivitations now and I realized I ordered them just to spite her.

Danvers, if the bows are drving you nuts, don't do them. No one will ever know

My FMIL told me to bring them over Saturday after the fitting and do it together Hahaha

MAN! Change part of the ceremony for a friend?! Whoooo....I would've run if I had said that to a bride!
