I guess all the pre-planning for a WDW trip must seem sort of strange to the first time visitor. There really are quite a few "moving parts" if you're trying to make the most of your time on property. Imagine someone walking in with little or no planning, facing the vastness of the parks and the throngs of people and wandering what to do first. Those are the people who find a line and get in it. This is when they have plenty of time to think about maybe having spent a few minutes on their phone getting FP+ or ADRs might have been a good idea. That's on them, but they return home and complain that they didn't do many rides because the lines were so long. God bless their little cotton socks.
