My 11 year old didn't know where the dishwasher soap was so he used the hand soap. I don't know how many times he has done dishes and all of the sudden he loses all brain power.:confused3

I really need the smiley where your banging your head on a wall right now.

So does anyone know how I get rid of it. And yes I know I can google I'm really just hoping ya'll can make me laugh about this.

As the mom of a 13 YO who also suffers from 'boy brain' more often than not, can I console you with the fact that he tried, and used some sort of soap? And did not just rinse them in water....

If it makes you feel better my 12 year old put a ice cream sandwich in his pocket to save for later. :sad2:

If it makes you feel any better, I did the exact same thing when I was about his age. I still managed to grow up to be a well-adjusted, contributing member of society. ;):lmao:

I can still picture the look on my mom's face, though, when we came into the kitchen and there were suds all over the floor creeping towards the hallway.:scared1:

He used regular, not to be used in the dishwasher, soap. And he is our smart one!:lmao: But since we live in MN that shouldn't be a surprise that he is so smart.;)

I hate to admit this, but it has happened here too. I called and they told me to run it on the rinse & drain cycle until therer were no bubbles coming out or inside the dishwasher anymore.

Just repeat until clear. :thumbsup2

I did it too - at the age of 27 - so don't feel bad. I called my Mom afterwards and I think she started crying she was laughing so hard. And I had lived on my own since I was 18 and in college...it's not like this was my first time out. I had run out of dishwasher soap and thought - well - why not...

I learned fast why not and never made that mistake again!

Sprinkle salt on the foam to make it go away. Run the dishwasher a few times to clear out the leftover soap.

It happens.

My dad did the same thing last month. My mom had to run the dishwasher 3x to clear all the soap bubbles out. Then, my dad did it again last week. :sad2: The running joke in our house is that for such a smart man, he has no common sense! He has always been this way.

That is my dh and this kid is just like him. I've said for years that people get so smart there is no room for common sense.

Thanks for the advice about what to do. Tim wants me to wait for him to come home. He must think this will be cool to fix or something.

My brother and I did this too, we filled the kitchen with bubbles. I will never forget the look on my Dads face when he came around the corner and there was brother and I up to our chins in bubble in the kitche. We had no clue what to do (heck I still don't know what they did to fix that mess) so when my son did the same thing my first reaction was to call my brother :rotfl2:

I've got a smart one too, she left the phone in the freezer, has forgotten to rinse the shampoo out of her hair and could not figure out why her hair would not dry and I could go on and on and on. :lmao:

Kids, if they didn't make us laugh once in awhile we surely would kill them!;)

My sister once helped my Mom by attempting to scrub the bathroom floor with Comet. She was about 13 also. I think my Mom had to wash the floor a half dozen times to get the white off of it. She made my sister promise to never help her again by cleaning the bathroom!

I had a student that brought ice cream to school for snack one day. As the kids were getting ready for lunch I heard him tell one of the other kids that he stopped at the store and got a King Cone for snack. He was highly disappointed when he found out it had melted.

I did it too :rotfl:

My parents weren't home and I remember calling a couple friends freaking out LOL

On the other things I did that were stupid, I once flushed the toilet paper holder down by accident. I was changing it and it fell in at the end of a flush and it disapeared. I was SO scared to tell my parents that I called from school. My dad made me help him take apart the toilet and retrieve it when I got home...not fun for a really squeemish 14 year old girl.

One of my kids did that but I can't remember which one!:lmao:

I've never heard of anyone else doing that hahahaha....

Here's another one...in grade 12 I drove the car through the wall connecting our condo to our neighbor's garage because I spilled a pop on my leg and let go of the wheel.

My ds was just about to use regular dish soap in the dishwasher a few years ago when the tv stopped him :lmao: Colin Powell was doing an interview and said that he was home alone with his son and ran out of dishwasher stuff. He KNEW it wasn't supposed to be substituted, but figured if he just put a little bit in it would be alright. Didn't work for him either :rotfl: Ds literally had the soap in his hand, the door open, and was about to pour it in when he was saved by the tv :rotfl2: To bad he wasn't watching tv the day he put half a bottle of laundry soap in the washer :scared1:
