when it comes to eating while staying at dvc

We pretty much eat breakfast in the Villa every day. Eggs and bacon, usually, or a protein bar. Good, strong coffee.

Share a lunch in the parks or get snacks when we are hungry.

Usually a ADR for dinner, usually at a Signature. There is always a night or two when we wind up canceling a reservation and eating leftovers in the room. That's what the fridge and microwave are good for!

I used to plan some meals, we'd get groceries. At least half of it always went to waste, so we gave up on that plan.

Mostly breakfast in the room. Cereal, yogurt, fruit. I love their yogurt parfaits so I pick those up too when I can.

Very rarely do we have lunch in the room - maybe once if we have any leftovers from a meal at a ts the night before or we might buy lunch by the pool and bring it to the room if we want to cool off a bit.

I did have a dinner once or twice when we first bought DVC, not in a long, long time.

I am on vacation, so I am not a fan of cooking my own meals. Having said that, our last two trips we did breakfast in the room each morning, put the dishes in the dishwasher, then went off to the parks. We ate lite lunches and then dinner out. It was a :thumbsup2 great compromise, since we actually saved some time and got out to the parks much quicker. We always make sure we have stuff for snacks when we get back, but eating breakfast then heading out worked much better than I anticipated.:lmao:

We rarely eat in the villa. Maybe breakfast once in a while. For a quick breakfast, we have a protein bar on the way out the door.

I'm not a DVC owner yet but one of the biggest selling features for me is the full kitchen. We have 3 kids, ages 8, 4 & 1. Eating out at a restaurant isn't always easy with little ones, in fact it is quite difficult at times. We used to love the dining plan but it has become a major hassle lately. We hate having to be tethered to a certain park and having to eat at a certain time. Sometimes we aren't hungry and want to go on a few more rides, other times we are starving and our reservation isn't for another hour. Last time we went we stayed in a regular room @ the carribean beach resort and made bagels for breakfast and it was so much easier being able to eat in our room (well except for the fact that we had 3 kids crammed around a tiny table and our micro-frige was jam packed with food/drinks). Having a full kitchen will save us a ton of money because we won't have to buy the dining plan anymore too.

I love the idea of eating off-property too. We'll have to give that a try next time.

I guess I am the minority here, but I HATE restaurants and eating out! I will bring back deserts etc to the villa, and I also eat weird! so I like to have my FiJi water, my egg whites and cheese and yogurts, salads etc. why waste money? I also buy tuna and pita bread for snacks or lunches. I never eat "dinners" mostly egg whites.
no big deal to clean, that is what a dishwasher is for.

oh, I am up every morning around 4 AM, so being able to make an early breakfast is the BEST for me!
other then that, I will stay Club level at AKV, which I have in May!!:yay:
