When is your Spring Break 2011?

We are the week of March 21 (suburban Chicago) and will be spending the entire week, 7 nights, at the Grand Cal Villas.

What can we expect as far as closures, crowds and weather?

You will be there right as it gets busy keep in mind it's always busier on the weekends. I wouldn't expect any rehabs except for long term stuff. MM in DCA and startours in DL come to mind.

Weather should be great. Maybe cool mornings and evenings but very nice afternoons. Possible rain.

Thanks....the last (and only) time we were there was in early June so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was aware of weekend crowds, so we are arriving and leaving on Sunday, so most of our days will be during the week.

I honestly wont miss Star Tours or MM

My kids are out 3/21-25 (they go to a private school -- the public schools in Hawaii are on break 3/14-18). I have an awesome opportunity for training at UCLA 4/5-8 (I get CMEs and take my family on my "business trip"), but I am passing it up and we will go in May because I prefer less of a crowd and my kids are still in Pre-K so no big deal if they miss school.

I guess because Thanksgiving is over Spring break is really on the mind, I've seen 4 brand new threads about when is SB? today.

I'm in Northern CA and we are off 4/4 - 4/8.

So now I'm really glad I opted to look at the week before our Spring break to go. Turns out the elementary, middle school, high schools and colleges are all out at the same time. Some districts will be out the week after as well.

We are in Eastern part of the Bay Area (Northern CA). Our public schools always get the last 2 weeks off in March. In 2011 that would be March 14th-25th.

However my kids attend a private school so they always get the week off after Easter: in 2011 would be April 25-29th.

I'm thinking that might be a good week to go this year since Easter is so late.

Yep..Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the best days to go!

My son's spring break is April 4th through the 8th, but the college is March 21st to 25th. Go figure.

Very interested to see the results from this thread. My school district (I'm a teacher) moved spring break away from Easter when we moved the end of the 1st semester to before Christmas (i.e. before Winter Break). We are in the Inland Empire, about a 50 minute drive to Disneyland. With LAUSD doing the same soon (I think maybe next year) it looks like our spring break is about to get very busy at Disneyland....boo...I love my job but I hate not being able to take non school day trips to Dland....

I am curious as to what geographic areas are on spring break the week of February 28th? There are a couple that voted that way. We are not on SB that week but are considering going for a couple days and I was hoping to miss the SB crowds.

The one week with currently 25% of the votes looks like it will be busy. Overall though I don't think it will be super busy other than weekends. It appears that Easter coming late this year has spread the crowds out a bit.

I am so HAPPY to see the results of this poll! We had planned a trip in March but then had to put it off Until 22-30 of April. And being in the Park 4 days out of 24-29 period. I was SO worried about it being super crowded, but it looks like Easter sunday is the only day that it will be.... Relief!

By the way we went with a 5 bd 3 bath house rental 10 minutes away! We are bringing our grown children and our grand children. 14 total so the house was the only sane way to go. It has a pool,Jacuzzi, game room with our own private theater (8 ft projection t.v.),, 7 ft air hockey table, fuse ball table, 50 inch plasma tv in the living room ,and a tv in every bedroom! There is also a family room. Awesome house and with the pool heating fee, cleaning fee and rental fee it still worked out to 250 a day! No way could we have all stayed in hotel rooms for that price! We can't wait.
