When is your school's fall break?

We had three half days last week because of parent/teacher conferences but that's no break for the teachers!! We really don't get a break until Thanksgiving.

Columbus Day holiday, Oct 28 closed for teacher meeting
Nov 10&11 parents meeting and Veterans Day
Thanksgiving they have 2.5 days off school

Their week break isnt until Christmas week

We dont get one. We get some time before Thanksgiving, and the teacher convention in November (both 3 days each)

We also got the Jewish high holidays off, and the day before for them. So those were four days.

We don't get a fall break. Just a couple of days at Thanksgiving and then about a couple of weeks at Christmas.

I don't understand the desire to take more breaks and making the summer break shorter.

Either get the school year done or go year round. This middle ground stuff would drive me nuts. Glad they didn't do it when I was still in school.

Just because you have a fall break doesn't mean your year is really longer. Our school year goes from Sept 6 to May 26th and we have a fall break (well two days for State Teacher conventions). We have minimal time off at Christmas and don't really have a spring break at all ( just Good Friday off before Easter). We also don't have time off for teacher inservice days, we do a 2 hour late start one Monday/month for that.
