When Is Your Kids Fall Break From School?

I was just wondering when everyones kids go on fall break from school this year.

Fall break? Never lived anywhere where you get a fall break! Guess we're not living in the right place! In TX and SC you don't get those. We get one break at Easter in SC and in TX you get it in March. School starts Aug. 11 too!

I thought it was only for schools up North but I live in Georgia and this year our schools are doing Fall breaks.

I'm in NYS and there is no fall break here.

I've never heard of fall breaks. What states have them?

No fall break. I have heard there is one in November for NJ schools though.

We don't get one of those either in MA. We do get a break at Christmas, 1 in Feb and 1 in April, but our schools were opened through the last week of June too.

No fall break in the eastern Iowa public schools.

no fall breaks in our area of WI, only a long weekend at the end Oct.

I live in Kentucky. Our school district is on an alternate calendar, with eight weeks off in the summer and two-week breaks in October, December, and March. Our fall break is October 3-14. Did not vote, since our break covers two of the options.

The Uk has what we call a "half term". Its generally the last week of October. This year most schools break up on the 21st and return to school on the 31st.

This is a very, very popular time for British visitors to choose to come to WDW. Flights are very expensive and its becoming almost as popular as August (when most schools have their big summer break). The fact that there arent many USA school holidays at that time, means the parks are generally quieter. Also, with the weather cooler (with not so much chance of hurricanes!), the food & wine festival AND MNSSHP, October is fast becoming the month of choice for us in the UK!

In the Denver area many school districts get fall breaks. We don't get some of the breaks other schools get like around President's week for example. Don't know why all schools don't do this, its the nicest time of year most anywhere weather wise! MNSSHP here we come!

Maryland is also a no. I teach and would love to know where they do have fall breaks, would consider relocating.

We do get a long weekend for Columbus Day!

No fall break in South FL. If we don't get a hurricane and have to use Oct. 13 and 14 (teacher work days) as make-up days, they'll have a long weekend.

no fall break in IL, just get the Friday before Columbus day off.

Have never had a fall break in NH, just a 3 day weekend for Columbus Day. But we get a week off in Feb and a week off in April. Or I did. College will of course be different.
