When is your 2005 Spring Break?

Hey everyone. We've booked to be at WDW during the week preceding Easter 2005. (Easter Sunday is March 27).

I know that Easter is traditionally a VERY busy time at WDW because of the number of schools in the U.S. that have spring break around that time but I'm wondering how many schools actual tie spring break to the Easter holidays (given how early it will be in 2005)... or is the break they merely based on a week in April that just often correspond swith Easter?.

Anyways, I'd be interested in knowing (and hopefully others who are planning to go to WDW in March / April 2005) which week schools in your hometown / state are scheduling their spring breaks next year.

TIA

This question came up about a month ago. As you may expect there were a lot of responses.

The responses were fairly evenly split each week from mid-March till the end of April. I believe there was a slightly higher count for the week before and week after Easter Sunday.

Many church schools (in our area at least) change spring break each year to coincide with Easter, while the public schools generally stick with a specific week. Our school district always takes the first full week of April - this year that is April 4 - 8.

Here in Southeastern MN, ours is always the last week of March. This year it happens to fall over Easter. March 24-April 3.

Thanks for the summary and sorry for the repeat question. (Did a search before posting but didn't come up with anything that current or that comprehensive.)

Our spring break is the week after Easter next year. We specifically wouldn't go then for religious reasons (we are Catholic and our son attends Catholic school, and wouldn't want to miss church activities at our own parish). Of course, the Catholic shrine at Disney is beautiful, and I am sure they would have a lovely Easter Mass.

We're getting a nice long one this year. We get Fri. 3/18 until Tues. 3/29. My kids also go to Catholic School in Texas and we always get Holy Monday off. We get back from our land/sea on March 24th so we'll have a nice long weekend to recover.

Well, if it helps at all, you won't have to worry much about locals. Because of the hurricanes, most central Florida kids may lose their spring breaks.

Virginia Beach, VA:

Our traditional schools are 3/28-4/1/05. Our year-round schools are 3/24-4/8/05.

I just registered and am still learning my way around. I just linked to this thanks to info provided. We are in Ft Worth Tx and public schools here are week of March 14.

Last year our kids had the week before Easter off. We spent some time at Clearwater Beach and then 3 nights at WDW. Thursday and Good Friday were not too busy but Saturday was quite a bit busier.

We're in Northern Ohio and most of the schools we know of have the week after Easter this coming year.

Most of the schools in our area are off a couple of days for Easter, then Spring break April 17-23. We just confirmed BWV today for that week. The countdown begins. Although I have been unable to get rid of old countdown.

My son goes to a Catholic High School and his Spring Break is Friday 3/25 - Sunday 4/3. I'm going to be a "bad" parent and take him out of school on Thursday 3/24 so we can head down to WDW before the weekend rush, also airfare is a bit cheaper then. Only 6 more months!! We just spent 10 days in WDW in July and I am soooo ready to go back. I even had a pseudo Disney "fix" last weekend. Off Kilter (from Epcot) played at an Irish festival an hour away from home. We spent the weekend and got to see them perform 3 times. Much cheaper than a trip to WDW!!

Here on LI our kids are off April 25-29...

They are also off march 24-28...

Ours is from the end of school on Fri. March 25th-Sun. April 3rd. We are in the NW suburbs of Chicago. All of the spring break weeks in the Chicagoland area are not scheduled at the same time. I don't know if this is on purpose. We have had years where the next town over was a different week.

Hi!
I'm in Westchester County, New York. The majority of public schools follow the same schedule (established by BOCES), but some may choose not to.

Most schools here are not having the typical "Winter Break" that revolves around President's Day. We do have President's Day (2/21) off, but not the rest of the week. For my school district, we're having a Staff Development Day on Friday 2/18, so students have an extra long weekend. That's all, though. There is usually at least a week off at this time, but not this year.

Just around Easter, there is no school from Thursday, 3/24 until Monday 3/28. School resumes on Tuesday.

The Spring Break, then, runs from Monday, 4/18 until Monday 4/25. School resumes on Tuesday 4/26.

Sorry, but I'm not certain how the rest of the state's public schools have worked out their breaks.

Dd goes to private school in Racine, WI. Here break is 3/25 - 4/1. I think they go the same week as the public schools.
