Just wondering when this is opening up in the MK? I am hoping to see it when we go at the end of September.... :sunny:

sorry can't seem to find it..it was a big empty tree...

No official announcement has been made by Disney concerning the area, but rummors have been saying that it will open in September. Hopefully it will be open just in time for your trip. :sunny:

I was not aware of a Pooh play area. That sounds really nice. Can anyone give me more info on it. Thanks!

i believe the new winnie the pooh themed play area is being built on the site of the old 20'000 leagues attraction, yes a nice addition but i was really hoping for a new e-ticket on that site, seems a waste.

I wanted a nemo ride like Disneyland is getting. :confused3 Disneyland got space mt rehab, nemo ride, and monster inc ride. Come on wdw.

Okay... it's been awhile - does anyone know anything yet?? I searched allears, but can't find anything. Still hoping it's open during our late Sept trip. If it is, it'll take some of the sting out of the The Living Seas being closed!

I know what I want to find out when it does open. Any hidden mickeys??? I am a hidden mickey freak! I normally just go to MK because my girlfriend loves that park. I can't wait to go to WDW for a week in december, that way we can hit all of the parks. I do hope that the playground area takes some families out of the line for the pooh ride.

What Monsters, Inc. ride???? I wish that WDW had it---it is my son's FAVORITE movie!!!! :guilty:

From the MousePlanet website:

20,000 League Under the Sea lagoon – most of the area has reopened, featuring corral–type planters and more walkway space. The remainder is transforming into a Hundred Acre Wood–themed children's play area featuring slides, climbing structures, and interactive pop-jet fountains. The area, to be called “Pooh's Playful Spot,” is expected to open around September.

Around??? That could mean anything from now till November and beyond.

I walked by this past weekend, construction is still going on. The tree still has scaffolding etc.

We are going the last weekend in August and my son is a Pooh fan. Maybe, we will get lucky and they will do a pre-opening. :)

we walked by it last week. It looks like it has a looong way to go. There were 2 guys in there working on it. Doesn't look like it's being fast-forwarded. (There were major crews working on Everest).

Okay - from MousePlanet (again) updated today:

We are hearing unconfirmed reports that the Pooh's Playful Spot playground in the Magic Kingdom is targeted for a September 1 opening.

It looks like we have an official press release now:

Opening in September is a delightful new place where parents and children can play or relax together during a Walt Disney World vacation.

Called Pooh's Playful Spot, the whimsically themed area is located directly across from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh attraction in Fantasyland and will immerse guests of all ages in the beloved tales of the Hundred Acre Wood.

The beautifully landscaped oasis created by Walt Disney Imagineering offers numerous fun features for littler guests, including spurting fountains of water, crawl-through logs and honey pots, a slide, a treehouse for climbing and log-style benches for grown-ups -- all themed to the stories of Pooh, Tigger and friends.

No word on if there will be a character greeting here as previously rumored.

and I hope it's open by Sept. - Ellie would love it!

But I too, agree, that it's a shame to "waste" ride space, so to speak; especially since it sounds like a good share of it is simply being made into walkways.

I'd love to hear more about that too. I remember when I first saw the movie.. the part where they're flying through all the doors.. I thought wow that would be a GREAT ride!

Sigh! My 2 1/2 year old likes Pooh and playgrounds. He would love this. But, we leave this Thursday for a week and I doubt it will be open before we leave. :guilty:
