When is the holiday changeover in November?

We will be at WDW November 1st-8th... any chance of seeing holiday decorations/castle lights/etc. during that time??

They usually have the last Halloween party on November 1, so the Fall decor in the Magic Kingdom will be up until November 2, but will come down quickly. The Christmas decor does start going up in early November, but it will not be completed by the 8th. They do the parks one after another so they don't all get done in one night. Same with the resort decor. So you will see some of it, but not all.

We were there for the first night of Osborne Lights two years ago...it was about Nov. 10 or 11th...all the Christmas decor was up at Hollywood Studios including all the shop windows and the big tree outside. But the resort we were staying at did not have the decor up by the time we checked out that day...and the Magic Kingdom was not done. Epcot had some decor up (like the giant tree) but not the individual shop decor and such.

We were there the week before Thanksgiving and most of the parks had most of their decorations up. By the end of that week Epcot has finished putting up the decorations as we I noticed they still slowly putting them up. And by id week, the Christmas tree was up at POR (where we stayed).

Depends on when the first Christmas party is. MK will be decorated in full for the first party, except for the big tree which will not go up until after the Christmas parade television taping in the first week of December.

You might see some at the other parks (most likely Studios or AK and the Epcot tree may spring up around that time) but there will be little to nothing at the resorts yet.

Osborne Lights have started around that time (I think it was the 9th last year) so you could get lucky with those.

I think you'll be there just in time at the end of your trip.

My sister and I have gone for the marathon weekend and Food & Wine Festival the last two years, which happens to be that weekend this year, and the first MVMCP has been that Friday both times. They literally change the decorations from Halloween to Christmas overnight (per a friend who was there during the transition last year).

Just an FYI - if you're interested in doing the MCMVP, be sure to get tickets ASAP. It's been sold out the last two years when we tried to go on the first night, which will probably be the only night you'll be able to go based on when you leave.

We were there last year (2013) November 1-6. We went to MK on November 4 and November 6. On the fourth there were no Christmas decorations, on the sixth, everything was up! We even saw what looked like a mistaken lighting of Cinderella's Dream Lights just before Wishes, for about 30 seconds. Looked like they turned them on and then realized, "Oops! These aren't supposed to go on for another two days!" but it was nice to see them even for that brief moment.

Resorts are another story I think, I believe they take longer to get their holiday decorations up.

ETA: Except the tree, the Christmas tree was not up. But wreaths, lights, window displays, etc., were all up.

We are there those same dates (DCL the 8th through the 15th).

I believe the first MVMCP will be on the 7th, based on history of first party...

We are planning on attending MNSSHP on the 1st and MVMCP on the 7th hopefully!

The resorts might not be all switched over yet...
