when is the best time to visit vero beach?

When is the best time to visit Vero? In the wintertime when it is cold up North (do the temps stay pretty comfortable during winter?) Or, is it more popular as a summer retreat? When do the turtles lay their eggs?

IMHO-October.

We love it at VB in October. It is not crowded and the weather is perfect!! It's warm during the day and not cold at night.

We have been at the beginning, middle and end of October. The only time we have seen it really crowded during October is on the weekends.

We will be there for Halloween this year and can't wait.

We have been in June and August. June was great and we loved August the only problem with Aug is the water was a bit choppy because of an approaching storm.

The turtles lay their eggs in June and July, in August you start seeing the babies leave the nest.

We have only been there in June. Loved watching the Turtles lay eggs. What time of day do they hatch in August. It wold be so cool to see them go into the ocean.

I would say Feb to April or Saturday nights in the summer is the best time to go based on the number of points a room takes.

We have gone the last 2 summers in July(1st and 2nd week) and even though the resort was booked solid, the pool and beach was never very crowded. We have had perfect weather the last 2 years in July (88-92 degrees and no rain at all).

The true "season" for Vero is Feb-April....prime tourist season for southern Florida. The gulf stream just offshore keeps temperatures pretty temperate through the winter (warmer than Orlando). The Vero area is also the start of the "tropic" region of Florida. Very little can beat leaving a cold, snowy winter to lounge on the beach in Florida. The entire winter is pretty warm although you will hit days or periods of days when temps will dip into cold and/or freezing ranges.

That said, spring and fall in Vero are beautiful (of course the stray hurricane may appear, especially in October/November) and less crowded. Traditionally, a summer vacation in southern Florida would be unheard of. However, many people have proven that false in terms of having a great time in Vero during the summer. So, any time is a good time for Vero!

Tigger1 we spend from 10:30am-5:00pm laying on the beach or playing in the ocean. So it had to be either before 10 or after 5, I would venture to guess it was in the morning because we are creatures of habit and generally leave the beach around 5 to shower and go out to dinner. We rarely vary from this routine.

We felt very fortunate last summer, we saw a shark in the surf, a manatee, several baby loggerheads, and a few dolphins. Considering this was all from the beach we felt very fortunate to see all the wildlife.
