when is the best time to visit?and more questions?

I am planning sometime with in the next year to visit my friend in Ca and we would like to meet up in DL.
1. when is the best time and least crowded and warm?
2. Can I go for just 3 days?
3. can you recomend a hotel that is budget friendly and will sleep 6 of us or someplace we can get 2 room?
4. Do they have ch dining.If so the price and ch
5. How far is LAX from the land?

1. Best time for warmth and lowest crowds will be May and September. But there are downsides to visiting off-season. See

FWIW, no one knows for sure what will be down in May 2008, but there is word Indiana Jones (one of DL's best rides) will be down for a lengthy refurb next spring. In Sept the HM always go down for a holiday overlay and Matterhorn usually goes down for refurb as well until Oct/Nov.

The next best bet for warmth and low crowds is the first half of June, as DLR usually has most of the rides out of refurb by then and ready for the summer crowds.

2. Yes, you can go for as many days as you want. Three is usually considered a minimum to get a solid experience of both parks.

I think I can answer a few of these:

1. September is warm and low crowds because kiddies are back in school
2. Yes, you can see DL in three days, your feet will be sore and you'll be busy but 3 days is definately do able
3. I would recommend Howard Johnson's hotel, it's fairly budget friendly, nice rooms and staff, good pool area and it's a clean hotel
4. They do have character dining - but I dont' know much about it so I'll let someone else answer that
5. Don't know for sure because I've always taken a shuttle and slept on the shuttle to the hotel.

My family likes February (not presidents week) because the crowds are low. The good thing about Orange County is that even in the winter it's still very moderate. We were there this last February and it was 93 degrees one day, so you never know. We were there a couple years ago in early December and it was in the 60's. Very comfortable with a light sweatshirt.

Also, if you can, go during weekdays. It makes a world of difference with the crowds.

We don't like to go during off-season because the hours are lots shorter and the parades, fireworks and other evening entertainment is often not available. We enjoy late June.

1. Crowds are not as big as July/Aug
2. Everything is open
3. Park open longer (very end of June early July)
4. Blackout days for AP holders so park is quieter
5. Weather not too hot and no rain
6. Fireworks every night
7. Accomodations are not full so better rates
