I bought our tickets to come home for $114. I have not bought the flights to MCO yet as they are $181. The trip is about 125 days away, near 4th of July. This trip would be for 4 passengers. Two of us may fly again within a year but the two children will not so can not count on using credit if we find a lower flight.
Should we go with the $181 or wait for a lower price. I think it was $149 just a couple weeks ago but I did not buy in time.

I usually find that the best time to buy SW is as soon as flights are released. In my experience, the prices usually continue to rise. If you can live with those prices, I would buy now. :goodvibes

I agree that as soon as the flights are released is the best price.

I also agree, however, I have frequently found that prices go down about 6 weeks or so before the trip. I always buy them the day they open. If they go down, great! Last year, we went over Easter week and I purchased them on opening day. They never went down - only up - ridiculously up.

This year, we are headed down at the end of March. I purchased the tickets on opening day. I have been watching and they have just been going up. Then, last Saturday, I was able to switch our flight to an earlier time for the same price. Today, I am switching our flight to one that is one hour later and saving $300 for the four of us. So, at about 6 weeks before the flight they started to move.

Given that you are flying around a holiday, I wouldn't keep my hopes up that they will go down.

Good luck!
