Just trying to plan for our 1st CRT breakfast (hopefully!) in December. Does anyone know when they open? It would be nice to get there before the park opens, but I would also like to see the opening ceremony. Are there any drawbacks to eating at the earliest time?

Thanks SO much for any advice! :)

Whenever you get your reservation.

Seriously, if you are picky about times, you may lose out completely. There have been stories about people losing tables as they try to book them. As for "first available" or "any available" table.

I strongly suggest trying to get PS before park opening. We had Main Street all to ourselves. Those pictures were awesome. As we approached the castle, Mickey came out. We had him all to ourselves too. It was 1,000 times more special to us than the opening ceremonies.

I am expecting the crowds to be large with the FTP, even in Oct. I booked the latest PS available on two different EE days. I figured that if we miss the first bus, we won't miss our PS. If we do catch the first bus, we will have a bit of time to ride before eating. It really depends on how crowded it is when you are going. I have never utilized EE, but we will on the trip (providing I can get up in time)!

I've got a question along those lines--I got a CRT PS at 8:25 on an EE day (it's a Sunday--the park opens at 8 as EE)--will they let me in the park before 8? Thanks :)

Just ask for first seating or you may miss a PS. The best IMHO is 8:05 a.m. on a nonearly entry day. It's magical walking to the castle before the park opens. One morning we caught Mickey and Minnie in the park in front of the castle and got some great pictures without anyone else around. Plus, I think the food is fresher - the CM's are more rested at the early seatings. Good luck!

Oh - to answer the question about getting in early - yes, you will be allowed to enter. A CM has a list of all the PS before park opening (last turnstyle to the left) and will check the list - and then you can enter. It's also a real plus to have an early PS if you are staying offsite. You can hop on the monorail and get to into the park before they let everyone else in.

from my experience, the best time to eat at CRT is whenever you can actually make the PS :) I had 6 days that I could make a PS, I was only successful getting through on one of them, I took the first time she offered.

of course, in the course of the days I could call I had the 120 days out call date for Thanksgiving AND the day that the PS system changed. some luck, huh?

On non-early entry days try for "earliest available". On early entry days do 10am. Enjoy EE and enjoy 7 attractions or so and saunter over to castle. After breakfast... LEAVE the MK!!!

I think it depends on if you are an early riser or not. The last time we ate at CRT we were up at the crack of dawn for a PS before park opening. It was neat to be on Main Street all by ourselves but we are not early people. So this time we made the PS for 9:30. That is much more workable for us as we usually don't even get to the parks until 10am or later. We have better things to do like sleep! Or lay by the Poly pool! :D :D
