T-Rex is going to be a themed type restaurant like Rainforest Cafe, owned by the Landry's Restaurant chain that also owns Rainforest.

The website for T-rex said early 2008 but I think the new restaurant in AK opens this summer.

Sorry to let you down but T-rex is scheduled to open in 2008 in Downtown. The landry's restaurant in AK is Asian themed. You can check the press release at the landry's website. I'm from KC the home of the first T-Rex. It's awesome to see and experience, but the food is not great. However, my kids loved it right down to the build-a-dino run by build-a-bear. When this does open expect tremendous waits even if they take a PS. I am a Safari club member and they did not honor the priority seating. They did give the discount for food. We waited about 45 minutes to be seated on a weekday even arriving before it opened. This was two months after its grand opening too!

Yes I posted the webpage above and I noted that T-rex opens early 2008 and both the asian themed and T-rex are owned by Landry.

Just wondering if anyone has anything new to report regarding the opening of the T-rex restaurant in DTD?
We'll be there in late Aug and would love to make an ADR for then (not sure if they will be taking ADR's). I think that the kids would love it.

We were at DTD on Sat and the sign said opening fall of 08 but the construction looks like it just started.

I called to make ADR's about 2 weeks ago and CM didn't have any info about them opening. She told me to keep checking back. My boys really want to go there too.

Talked to a CM this week when making changes to my trip and he said usually shoot for the first month of the following season. In other words the first month of winter 08.

It looks like we might just miss the opening, but I'll still keep my fingers crossed and keep an eye out on this thread for any new news. Here's to hoping....
