When is Star Wars weekends?

Im trying to plan a weekend trip in May and want to avoid these weekends. Does anyone have a clue when they are?

Melissa, I have asked this question too. I just read that they are starting May 15-June 13. However, I can not confirm this, but it is about the same time as last year.

This works out perfect for us, since we plan on arriving around the 12th or 13th. Hope it fits into your schedule, too!

There are no firm dates out yet, but we should hear literally any day. I think last year we heard officially around February 10.

Last year they had them the last 3 weekends in May and the first 2 weekends in June. But that hasn't always been the schedule.

The WDW website says selected weekends in May and June, but no dates yet. Who knows? It could be the same as last year? It could be 2 weekends in May and 3 in June. We just don't know yet.

Be assured though as soon as it's known it will be posted here.

Actually there's no real need to avoid those weekends. MGM will be busy, but really only crowded right around the Star Tours area at certain times of the day. We have done SWW twice and didn't find it unbearable at all. And I hate feeling crowded!

So by all means, go! It only happens Fri, Sat and Sun. What we did was we hit MGM on the EE day and left after lunch because we had hit everything we wanted. The rest of the time we did other parks and the other parks were fine too.

Zulaya, thanks so much for posting about your experience. I was just debating whether I should redo our itinerary (again!) to avoid MGM on a Stars Wars Weekend. We'll do EMH and avoid the Star Tours area that day. We're planning a PS at Sci Fi at 11 and then getting out of that park, so it looks like we'll be fine.

For those who want to avoid crowds at MGM on SW weekends, especially avoid the Memorial Day w/end! We don't have a choice, and will be there again this year during MD, but are going to try to make it in for the Sunday of the w/end before that as well.

I can't speak for the other SW w/end dates, but last year the MD w/end was horrible (fun, but horrible)!

We were at the Studios for Star Wars weekend last Memeorial Day weekend on Saturday & did not find the crowds to be any different than any other Star Wars weekend day in previous years. Riding Star Tours will be easier & less crowded on a non-weekend day, but I wouldn't not go to the Studios on a Star Wars weekend. Just a difference in opinion ...

We were there last yr. and didn't know it was star wars weekend. I didn't think the crowds were bad, more crowded because of Gay week. I actually enjoyed seeing all the star wars things and I don't even like it.
