When is Spring Break in Galveston?

I'm probably heading down to Houston next month for surgery and my parents will be coming with me. I'll be in the hospital for several days so I thought it might be fun for them to head down to Galveston for the day to look around. I don't want them to be there over spring break, I don't think they'd enjoy it at all. Does anyone know when it is?

Also, what is there to do in Galveston that a couple of people in their 60's and early 70's would enjoy? They enjoy eating and shopping and sight seeing, what's not to be missed?

I was afraid of that. Well, I guess the good news is that surgery will probably be on the 25th, so maybe they'll just catch the tail end of it.

How bad is it??? Is it as wild and crazy as I'm making it out to be in my mind?

Most TX universities are out march 16-20 and tons of public schools follow suit. I'd say THAT will be the most crowded week in March.

Good to know! Thanks! I knew that Houston schools were out that week because my surgeon is going on vacation... that's really the week that I wanted. Hopefully he'll be back rested and ready to do an awesome job on me!

I might just tell my parents to go. It'll be way better and more fun than sitting there watching me try to hold my hospital gown closed as I saunter around the nurse's station.
