When is school over for your kids?

So when is the school year over for your kids and where do you live?

DD is just in preschool, but her last day was Friday. We're going to the beach next week, and I'm curious to know when summer starts for most people i.e. when the crowds start to show up!

San Jose, CA - Most schools get out in mid-June. My 4th grader (public school) gets out June 11. My 7th grader (private school) gets out June 12. He's ticked that he has to go one day longer than his brother!

Hey neighbor. We are in Louisiana. My kids are taking finals this week and will all be done by Wednesday afternoon. I'm a teacher and my last day is Friday. We leave Saturday for a week at Disney!

June 12th for my kids. It can't come soon enough for me. I could also use some extra time off for summer too, we go back before labor day, YUCK. Luckily this next year will be the end of science projects and signing binder reminders.

Yep but 2 of the kids in my group are my grandkids. 2 of my kids are adults in their late 20s and my daughter in law is 31. Lot's of family = lot's of fun!

I agree the school year should end the friday before memorial day and start the day after labor day. What is wrong with these schools? I am willing to give up spring break and thanksgiving week and the week before christmas(so I cab wrap in peace) to have a longer summer. That's when the best weather is around here.

June 5th and I'm in Washington, DC. We usually go a week later, but for some reason not this year. And we don't go back till September 9th so it's a nice long summer!
