Hi! My neighbor had planned to go the same week that we are, but has had to reschedule. She is now planning to go the week of Nov. 5. Is this what is considered "Jersey Week"? I wasn't sure when it fell this coming year..and I just wanted to prepare her. Are the crowds comparable to spring break time, or less or worse?

Thanks!

Yes. NJ schools have Thu Nov 9th and Fri Nov 10th off. So lots of people take their kids out of school on Mon 5th - Wen 8th. As far as what the crowds are comparable to, maybe someone else can answer that, I'm not sure how bad it gets.

I have lived in New Jersey my *ENTIRE* life and have never heard of Jersey week. I truly think it is made up by an online message board site. lol ;)

And as a side note, I am a fifth grade teacher in a K-8 school. Since being there not one family has gone to Disney during our convention time.

New Jersey Week is a very common term down here in Central Florida, it's been accepted for the past few years to coincide with the week in early November when most NJ schools have Election Day and Teacher's Convention off. It does drastically increase the attendance and the dinner reservations on Disney property.

FYI, Arkansas Week just past, it was February 30th and 31st :rotfl2:

We were there in November for Jersey week, and it wasn't bad at all. The crowds were manageable with minimal waits. We used fastpasses for the more popular rides. The longest wait we had was 15 minutes. The weather is great that time of year. It was 80 degrees everyday and no rain. Have fun!

The infamous "Jersey Week" is roughly Sun November 5th to Sunday November 12th, 2006. The Thursday-Friday-Saturday will be the busiest days, and MK that Saturday will always be very busy. Even more so, kids from other states have days off that week too, as for Veteran's Day, so it adds to the crowds. I met plenty of people that week who weren't from Jersey!

As another poster said, I lived in Jersey all my life and never heard of the "Jersey Week" phrase until I read these boards. In my whole life, I only gone to Jersey Week once, in 2004. So not EVERYBODY goes from New Jersey!!!!! :teeth:

The week before and the week after "Jersey Week" are less busy. If your friends want to avoid crowds, those weeks are better. But even so, I went during Jersey Week 2004 and with normal planning, everything was fine. :)

We are going 11/1 and leaving 11/6--Im hoping we can get out of Dodge before the Jerseyites hit it for real that day, Monday, and after that. Stay away the weekend of the 4/5!!!

We are really not all that bad!!! :crazy2: Our Jersey family will be there for the 6th year in a row from No.5-10th. It is not nearly as bad as the holidays or the summer.
