When is Jersey Week for 2015

It's usually always the same week.....It's the 1st weekend before election day (1st Tues. in Nov)through the next weekend. All schools have the Thurs. & Fri. off, & some schools have the whole week. Also 1/2 day on non presidential election years too.* For that Tuesday.

Oh yea & I forgot to add.

It's one of the best times of the year to go too..
1) Crowds are very manageable
2) Weather is perfect
3) You get the best of both worlds...Halloween, & X-Mas. decorations.
4) Osbornes Spectacle of Lights opens usually that Friday
5) The end of F & W Festival too.

Completely agree with this! Everything I had read said to avoid this week. Then due to a conflict we had to switch to this week. It was great. Lower crowds than we were used to Halloween week.

To add to that...we were there around this time in 2014. Jersey week crowds were nothing...totally manageable...but Veteran's Day- different story! The Veteran's Day crowds reminded me of Thanksgiving.

LoL, Every once in a while these 2 piggyback each other.....

We just enjoyed our 3rd Jersey Week in 2014, but unfortunately the kids are in middle school, so it's getting harder n harder to pull them out...Even for only 2 days or so..:confused3

Alright, that sounds great. I am looking for a little cooler weather this time, but we do not want to go too late in the year as we drive down from Canada, would like to avoid any snow that time of year hopefully. We have part of the last week of oct and into the first week of Nov. I am glad it is not too busy.

Deb.

I always wondered if Jersey Week was as bad as people say. Good to have some feedback!

Jersey Week is definitely exaggerated... it is not crowded, you'll just find more people from NJ are there during that time. I have been going during either Jersey week or the week after for sp many years. I found that when we we there last year (nov 12-18), it was more crowded than when we went in 2013 (nov 6-12). Free dining is making that 2nd to 3rd week in November more and more crowded each year. I am so excited to be going back during JW this year, Nov 5-14th. I am from NJ and our schools always had that whole week off in the past, not this year. They are only off on the 5 & 6th this year and on Veterans Day. I plan on going to Uni/IOA on Veterans Day to get away from the crowds at the other parks. My parents went to Uni on Veterans Day last year and they loved it, it was not crowded at all.

We always go this time of year. Just keep in mind, this year Jersey weeks happens to line up with the Wine and Dine half marathon (it did last year as well). You should expect heavier crowds on saturday (especially at MK- since the race causes the other parks to close early. I say heavier crowds, but still nothing compared to july or any holiday week.

This true...A lot of places were sold out fully this past JW, but What a grand time we all had....Next year , (2016) kids will be off of school during Election day on Nov.1st. Pres. Election, and the 3rd & 4th.

F&W Festival is going an extra week this year. Doesn't end until the 16th

the teachers' conventions for NJ are:

2015 - Nov. 5th and 6th
2016 - Nov. 10th and 11th

Glad to hear it's not as crowded as some people say... we're going for the first time during "jersey week" this year since my kids are off 11/3 for election day and 11/5-11/6... our last 2 visits were over Columbus Day weekend and 4th of July weekend, so hoping the crowds are much, much lower!

I'm glad I saw this thread bump, living in jersey we went once this week as kids and I don't remember it much. My girlfriend is going to be a teacher soon and I've been worried we'd be forced into summer WDW trips OR the rumored "crowded" teacher's convention week. Thankfully it doesn't appear to be that bad. Thanks folks
