When is the trip real for you?

We've paid up.
We've received our tags and coupons in the mail (real check number one).
Counting weeks and days instead of months and weeks (real check number two- 23 days in case you're wondering).

Last one I'm missing?
When I check the extended weather forecast, my first day of the trip is on there.

When I hit the sign at MCO for the Disney Magical Express...then it's real and the tears start a-flowin'! That's when the magic begins for me. :)

yep or walking under the Hyatt at MCO... we stay there alot if we take the late SWA flight into MCO out of STL..... either one... and we are :cool1:

I love flying so for me it's when the pilot announces "Crew, prepare to take off" I know the wait is finally over. From then on it's vacation time and nothing else can ruin my mood.

When I pass security to board the plane...it starts to hit me and by then I m so excited I am literally speechless.

...but, yes, counting down the days is fun!!!!!!!

It usually feels real when the Mickey Mail arrives! It is reallllly feeling real now that I am only 3 days away from leaving! Sunday morning I will be up at 3am.. wait for my stepmom to pick me up at 4:15am to take me to the airport and then it REALLY feels REAL!!!!!! 2 more work days to get through!!!!!! :cool1:

It's real for me over and over again! Past security and waiting to board; landing in Orlando and getting into the car bound for whichever resort my wife has us booked into; arriving at said resort, checking in and finding the room; waiting for that 1st bus to pull up with "Magic Kingdom" or "EPCOT" or whichever park on it; then arriving at the park and 1st spying cinderella castle, spaceship earth, etc. My pulse quickens a little each and every time! It's just not a feeling you get anywhere else.

It varies by trip, but this time it was 10 days out. When I told my dad he could do online check in that day, it just hit me like the Happiest Train on Earth. :rotfl:

It feels real for me once I book my airfare. However, when I arrive at Orlando International Airport, then I feel it is truly real!!

I think as soon as I get to the airport to fly to WDW is when it will feel real to me. :goodvibes

Only 3 days left to go, so excited! :cool1:

This is my first trip since I was 10 (15yrs ago!) so it's felt real since the day we booked! :rotfl: But as of today I am doing the single digit dance!! :woohoo:

I've been counting down since we booked! haha but it really hits me the day of, waiting in the airport super exciting to know when I land, I'll start to see all things Disney!

It hits me about a week before, when I start washing clothes and really packing, running last minute errands, etc. It keeps building and getting better every day until we finally drive under that sign on Disney property! It's a feeling like no other!!! :thumbsup2

It's real for me about a week or so before, when the Mickey Mail is here and the suitcases are down from the attic. Once the packing starts, I know it's finally, FINALLY ALMOST HERE!

I always have a trip thought out and planned just in case. They don't get real until I book them.

When I'm on my way to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. It's about a 1 - 1.5 hr drive to the airport from my house so it got real (only 1 trop under my belt) for me when I attached the luggage tags to my suitcases before heading out the door to drive to drive to the airport.

I'm from Northern Alberta - point one... Disney is just incredibly far away. It is real for me from the day of booking, however with many others out there the excitement grows and grows and GROWS until you reach the first park!
It becomes the most real on the way to the airport and getting on the plane. But it is real already and I'm still 217 days out!

For me it's not real until I walk through the resort doors. Everything else is great and makes me really anxious but even standing in the parking lot waiting for everyone to get out of the car isn't good enough. When I step through the doors into the lobby and feel the "Disney Air" I just kinda let go of everything. Then it is real.

Somewhere between putting the tags on my checked bag and when the ME video starts. Even standing in the ME line, it's so fun to watch all the excited people (especially kids) waiting to go to the World.

This may sound funny, but it's a lot of little different things.

I just bought the Birnbaum 2013 book (fresh in stores today!) That makes it feel real. The backpack I just bought on LL Bean clearance for the trip arrived today. That makes it feel real.

The day we book? Very, very real. The day it's paid off? Even more so.

The day we tell the kids? Over-the-moon real. :)

Leaving for the airport. Taking off for Florida. Seeing the Orlando airport. Seeing the Disney signs. Stepping into the resort.

Seeing the castle for the first time.

All of it makes it seem just a little more real. :wizard:
