What are the busiest weeks at Disney? I am planning a trip and want to avoid huge crowds. Is Halloween week bad? Thanks!

Halloween week would probably be very crowded. If you want to go to the Halloween Party, you're better off going mid-end of september.

Halloween week is not bad at all! Have been a few times the week before, during and after..it is our favorite time to visit. Now the MNSSHP is a different story:scared1:!...the parks are great during the day but the MK is packed during party nights.

I think these time periods are the best for avoiding the worst crowds. Everyone has different thoughts regarding this, but this is what we've experienced.

- January and first half of February, excluding the holiday periods. The Spring Breakers seem to start about midway through February, so it starts to be busier.

- Most of May, especially the first two weeks; of course the holiday weekend is pretty busy

- Early June, but getting more crowded; some schools close earlier than others

- Mid-August through September, but busy in September at Epcot with school groups

- October is one of only 2 months we have not visited. I would think it is busy, but not crazy like the summer. With both Halloween and the Food & Wine Festival, I would bet it is popular.

- Early to mid-November is great, but we especially favor the period right after the Food & Wine Festival ends to right before Thanksgiving. We think it is just about perfect.

-Early To mid-December

Halloween week is actually a low crowd week and they usually have a free dining discount that week. There will be multiple MNSSHP that week, and if you want to avoid crowds, do the party on one of the nights that doesn't actually fall on Halloween night.

We were there the week before Halloween this past year, and we thought it was great crowd-wise. The parks were not totally empty, but most rides had a short wait. We used a few FPs during the week, but they were not necessary (IMHO). We would definitely plan on going in October again.

We did go to MNSSHP on Tuesday (10/25), and it was crowded.

We usually go the first two weeks of May and we find the crowds very manageable. Not crowdless, for sure, but we never have to wait in any lines. We have also gone in late May and the crowds are heavier, but still not too too bad. Another time we went was in December and it was a lot more crowded than we like, but we still had a good time.

We always go in October - Halloween week is the most crowded with Columbus (Day) week coming in second, but those crowds are doable in comparison to other Holiday weeks throughout the year. The first week of October would be fantastic - low crowds, open rides, F&W festival, good weather and MNSSHP will have been open for a week or two.

I have been the week after labor day in September and it was great. No crowds and we walked right on all the rides. September is slow as school has just started back.

I have also been the week after Thanksgiving and it is not bad either. The big crowd was there at during the week of Thanksgiving. The temperature was great and the crowd level was low.

Sept is good if you don't mind taking a chance of a hurricane, the first couple of weeks of November were good, early May is good.

I've never been in January because I want to avoid the Brazilian tour groups but I've heard it's not bad.

And here I hope for a tropical storm when we go in September. They cool things off and scare off the Yankees. ;)

We did early September last time and it was GREAT! I am sure October would be fine, but any special event has crowds. We are doing June this year as we exchanged through RCI for a Beach Club Villa...could not resist despite crowds. Don't care though, we will just plan on a lot flew rides and more pool time!

January! Right AFTER New Years and BEFORE MLK holiday :thumbsup2. THE best time of the year to go ~ trust me I know, I visit the parks multiple times per week. It's the best weather and lowest crowds.

Good luck planning!
