I am planning a December trip - when does it start picking up for Christmas? I have to plan around my company's Christmas party (which we're not quite sure of the date yet) but I'm looking at one of the first three weeks. What do ya'll think?
The crowds really increased the 16th & 17th (Sat & Sun) and for the most part we could have scheduled our return home for the late afternoon of the 16th as we were pretty spoiled to no lines earlier in the week. Weather was FANTASTIC although I've read it was really cold the week before AND the week after so we just lucked out!
We will be there 12-7 to 12-13. I've done a lot of research and have heard the crowds are low at that time. I understand that the crowds pick up the week before Christmas. Have a great trip whenever you decide to go.
I just realized this post made me a DIS veteran. Actually, for the second time. I lost all of my posts in the big crash!! yeahh!!!
I think anytime after Thanksgiving week ends and up unil the middle of December would be good, as far as crowd levels. The weather can be really warm or downright cold though.
Our 1st trip in 1999 was the 30/11 - 9/12 and we found that the parks were relatively uncrowded. The longest time in a queue was about 30mins. Weather was lovely and the Christmas decorations and parades were just great. We enjoyed it so much that we are planning our 2nd trip for 1-14th December this year.
