When I was little I named my stuffed dog...

Oh yes,.....and I still do ;) They MUST have names.

DD has named all hers, but can't remember them all (over 200  ), so we have a computer list :teeth:

:D My stuffed dog's name was Griffin. He was a pound puppy and I slept with him for the longest time. Now my ds has him on his bed.

Pup-Pup ( I was just learning to talk). He is a bright orange poodle that I slept with forever. He went to college with me. He was totally flat.. having been slept on so many nights, as well as missing both floppy ears and one eye. He is now sealed in plastic. And he's 40 years old this year!

Don't ask me why, but I named my Teddy Bear Leonard. I still have it - it's now in DD's room.

I had tons of stuffed animals and I’m pretty sure they all had names. The only ones I can remember are a big, pink cat named Baby Blue Eyes and a red dog named Sylvia.

Well my DS has "Sunday Bunny" (a stuffed rabbit he got one Easter Sunday) :)

And my late mother used to make Teddy Bears. More than 25 years ago, she gave one to her oldest grandaughter - who promptly named it "Dorothy" (my mother's name was Dorothy) :)

When I was younger I had a stuffed Figment that I called Rose for some reason. :o

When I was little I got a pink fluffy dog for Christmas. I named her"Pinky"

When DD was about 4 we bought her a little plastic horse in the Houston airport gift shop. She named it "Horseton"(i.e., a horse from Houston).

I really didn't have stuffed animals when I was growing up. I've gotten more since. Kelsea just gave me a stuffed animal for Christmas and she named it Sarah.

Absolutely! Stuffed Animals must have names. :teeth: The first stuffed animal that I remember getting was a stuffed monkey that I named Bear. I still have him too. I named him after the chimp on BJ and the Bear. :)

I remember a stuffed gray poodle that my grandmother named FeeFee. :)

I named my dog after a stuffed animal that I named!

I have a yellow bear named Chester that I named because he "looked like" a Chester, and when I got my dog in '91, I didn't know what to name him, so the first name that popped into my mind was my stuffed teddy, Chester.

My dog's "full" name:
Sir Chesterfield of Rolley.
(now I may have spelled Rolley wrong. Rolley used to be a cigarette back a long time ago. So was Chesterfield.)

Funny, ain't it?

I don't remember the names I gave to my stuffed animals but when I was two I named my favorite baby doll Amanina. I was always making up words as a little kid.

When my sister and I were born (1960 and 1965) my grandpa gave us each a stuffed animal - her a elephant me a bear.
At time wore on we each named them...she named her elephant...ELEPHANT, and I named my bear....BEAR BEAR!!!
Each of us though, still have our animals - and will cherish them forever!!!!

Ahh! The generic naming method. I currently have a cat named "Kitty"

I name nearly all of my stuffed animals. My two favourites that I will be buried with (well, not exactly buried, but you get my point ;) ) are Droopy and Fasty. They are both dogs. I don't know where Droopy got his name, but he has lived up to his name. He somehow got opened up (probably by moi) because he has stitches near his rear and he lost some of his beads! Then, when I was maybe 5 I got his little playmate Fasty (at a Drug Emporium). Fasty got his name because I threw him, and he went "fast", so, there we have it.

Just before I went off to BU in 2000 I got a bear that I named Arizona (his nicker is Ari) because he came from an Arizona fast-pitch softball team. I also have a little CSA bear that I named after General Lee.

MMC, it sounds like that old cigarette brand is spelled Raleigh, as in Sir Walter Raleigh.

I can only remember naming one stuffed dog when I was about 11. He was "Ralph"....named for a boy I liked.:o

My 14 y/o son still has his first stuffed dog (that he got at 2 months) in his room. As soon as he started to talk, he named him "Bow Wow":D

My daughter has a big stuffed fish named "Blopie", pronounced blowpee. I love that name.:D
