When I See A Glenda Fly: The Story of the IcyHot That Wanted to be a Toothpaste (F&W)

I've gotta stop right here and insert some :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: emoticons!!!! I can't even wait to get to the end of the chapter. Hilarious!

I love the line "Ugh, remind me never to get this in full size!"

Oh my gosh, Sam!

I think Icy Hot is what you brush your teeth with after you've eaten a bagle with Crisco on it.

Oh my gosh I forgot about your crisco story! Bahahaha!
We need help!

Had to come back 'cause I wasn't quite done commenting, but had to get to work. Darn work.

"Is that big tree here?" Good thing you mom had you along as a guide. :thumbsup2

Hey, that's a great picture of a rhino butt, if that's what you were going for.

I love saying "a whole half" and do so whenever I can! "Are you going to that whole half?" :rotfl2: (But I'm easily amused.)

I'm glad your mom liked Animal Kingdom!

Joining in! ( I am from the facebook Nov. group too) Fun trip. I am so glad your Mom enjoyed it so much.
We were there the same time, though I think we were at different parks so far. But we WERE at MK on that Sat with the insane crowd levels. Sadly I was a tad under the weather and we didn't make it late like we normally do. I'm sure after midnight the park had to have cleared a little bit.

Yay! Welcome! We left pretty early, too. Indigestion and we were sick of the crowds! We'll save that for the next update, though ;)
It's a thrilling story I promise....:rolleyes1

Late to the party, sorry! :goodvibes:

Ok, gonna go backwards....

Our EE picture was awful! Like you couldn't pay me to show it. Grimace face all the way.

We have had great luck on early morning safaris, but I think the drivers know exactly when you are about to take "the" picture. Ugh.

I've never been to a crowded AK before, I can't picture it! Lol

Icy hot!! Bahahaha!!!!! Was it icy then hot? :teeth:

Wasn't F&W awesome!! I have to confess, we loved the ravioli. We had tons of cheese on it.

The chances of her mug being found are crazy! Lucky lady.

We were at RD for MK on the 9th too! It was a beautiful day.

I'm glad you forced your mom to go and that she loved it!

Actually, it was icy, then hot! Haha. That's why I thought it was toothpaste at first. And then it started to burn lol!

I hear everyone loved the ravioli. We might have gotten a bad one because I'm not a picky eater! Especially with Italian food. I love all cheese, red sauce, and noodles. So I cannot explain the ravioli incident! haha.

The day is Saturday, November 10th. MK was supposedly a 9/10 crowd day. Did I listen?
I thought about fixing things up after the Fantasy Land expansion and 3AM EMH popped up, but we had an ADR at Tony's this night and that's my favorite restaurant in all of WDW and since the rest of that week was also busy, we couldn't find a new ADR to replace it :(

A lot of the night was bad, but some of it was so magical that when we finally got back to the hotel that night, we were happy we went out that night. So I guess that's all that matters!

So we boarded the bus sometime in the 5 o'clock hour, with low expectations and an empty stomach.

One of the main things that made this night worth it, was seeing Magic Kingdom at night with the Christmas decorations. It was BEAUTIFUL. I cried, literally!

DisneyWorld200.jpg

DisneyWorld201.jpg

We noticed the castle wasn't lit up yet so we assumed there would be some kind of special show. I'd seen the castle lit up before since my first trip was the first week of January, but I didn't know there would be a show.
I looked at my lines app and saw something about Cinderella Castle show at 6:15PM so we decided to plop down on main street and wait for that. Our reservation was for 6:25 so we figured we'd have plenty of time, especially since we were watching from the fence where the character greetings are, right outside of Tony's.

And to our surprise, a parade drove by! That was nice because it really cut into the ten minutes of waiting on Main Street doing nothing.
The castle show started about 5 minutes late and it was making me nervous. Not as nervous as mom though. I don't think she understood that we'd still have our reservation if we were 5 minutes late!
The show finally started and it was pretty cute! It could have been a tad shorter but that might have just been our anticipation at the time! And then they lit the castle up and I cried again. It was BEAUTIFUL. For the rest of the night we just could not get over how beautiful the castle was. We'd just stop and stare all the time!

We made it to Tony's with a minute or two to spare and checked in.
Well, so much for worrying, apparently my reservation was at 6:15, not 6:25! The hostess said that was actually better considering how busy they were. I'm glad I got the time wrong, otherwise we would have missed the castle lighting, and that was definitely a highlight!

If Tony's could be any better, it would be half as busy all the time. Even slow season it's PACKED in there. And they yell your name when your table is ready instead of having a buzzer so the whole time I was anxious about missing our name being called!
There was a family that was kind of a wreck waiting next to us. The 2 year old was just bawling and the mom was frustrated and I heard them say they would have over an hour wait and the dad was pissed and the mom "just wanted 1 nice meal this trip!"

Just like I don't understand the people that wait in a 170 minute line for TSM, I don't understand waiting over an hour to eat somewhere. Depending on how long you're there that day, that could be $10 worth of time just waiting!
If sit down meals are that important, that's what ADRs are for! Oh well, hopefully they eventually got sat and enjoyed their, meal. Because I know we did!

After about 15 minutes they called our name and led us out onto the porch! I was so excited! It was SO beautiful out there. Nice and quiet compared to the craziness inside and there were only about 4 other tables. We could look at all the lights and listen to the Christmas music and it was just so pleasant!

Our waitress was so nice. Just the right amount of not rude but not super chatty. My favorite.
We both decided to get salads to start and some coffees so we could last longer that night! And we were ready to order as well, I got the spaghetti and meatballs (I'm a sucker for spaghetti and meatballs) and my mom got the mushroom ravioli.

Mom got the house salad
DisneyWorld207.jpg

She thought it was perfect

and I got the Caesar! I'm a sucker for caesar salad
DisneyWorld208.jpg

This was one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had! I love it when they have fresh shaved parm instead of the powdery stuff (although, I love the dry powdery stuff on pasta more :lmao: )
The dressing was delicious and creamy and the crouton was yummy and I was really happy right there in that salad!

Mom's ravioli
DisneyWorld209.jpg

After the trip, mom would say this was her favorite meal of the trip (food wise) So I assume the mushroom ravioli was super good.

My spaghetti
DisneyWorld210.jpg

YUMMM. I know it doesn't look like much, and it's hard to mess up so saying the spaghetti is good isn't saying much about the restaurant, but YUMMM.
It was nice and warm, the spaghetti was cooked so perfectly that it was better than I've ever experienced and the meatballs had great flavor.

I AM A TONY'S ADVOCATE! Lol. I will defend that place to my death. I love it so much. And Lady & the Tramp is my favorite movie so I'm not even biased :rolleyes1

We had another cup of coffee and then decided to head to Tomorrow Land. Got some castle pictures on the way
DisneyWorld211.jpg

DisneyWorld212.jpg

This is the last picture I took of the night so I apologize for the picture-less finish!
Tomorrow Land was PACKED. There was, LITERALLY, a 20+ minute wait for the PEOPLE MOVER! No joke. I was so confused when I went up to it. "what are all these people doing?" And then I overheard a CM say it was the People Mover line and the person just yells "THERE'S A LINE FOR THE PEOPLE MOVER?"
So much for my plan. It's busy so let's do all the unpopular rides that never have waits! Whelp, that's no good.
We grabbed Space Mountain fast passes for 10:45 PM (wishes was at 10) and then decided to head over to the Haunted Mansion to ride in the dark! It was a 25 minute wait and we decided to wait. And then BOOM. Indigestion. It was awful. We stayed in the line but I was not happy. The ride was uneventful but I was ready to get off it at the end and find a restroom.

We're next off!

And....the ride stops. Literally a foot away from being able to exit. And we wait for 10 minutes! Until the wheelchair came. Can't you wait to stop the ride until the wheelchair in READY to get on? We finally got off and decided to spend time wandering around Fantasy Land. I didn't trust rides! We went to the outside of the New expansion but didn't try to get in. It looks amazing from the outside, though, so I'm excited to go back and see it! We really enjoyed sitting and watching all the lights of Fantasy Land and, of course, staring at the castle! It was nearing time for wishes so we headed to the front of the castle and decided to stand close to the bathrooms by Crystal Palace just in case. We were about 30 minutes early and no body was around.

Well, the walk way QUICKLY filled up and about 5 minutes until Wishes a CM comes over and says we can stand in the walk way. Okay, where were you 30+ minutes ago when we stood here? Because there sure as heck isn't anywhere else to watch Wishes from at this hour. We were the least of the problem so we decided that once all the problems left we would too, but if they didn't leave it was pointless for us to leave. And they didn't and the CM gave up trying and just made sure people could get through single file.

The show started and I just had a hard time getting into it because people kept walking by and standing in front of us and it was just so distracting! I cried as usual but it was just less magical. I was hoping we could return our last night and watch when it would be so much less busy.
After the show we realized that we planned very poorly. We had fast passes to use and we were on the opposite side of the hub! And trying to cut across the hub when Wishes on a 9/10 day just ended is hell. Everyone kept telling us we were going the wrong way. Helloooo not everyone has the same plans as you. We were even out of the way, leaning on a fence waiting for the crowds to pass, not like we were pushing through the wrong direction!
15-20 minutes later, the crowds thinned out enough that we could cut over to Space Mountain.

We got in the fast pass line and watched a couple of people turn around and exit and then give their fast passes to some teenagers in the stand by line and they hopped over. Only they brought their whole group and only had fast passes for some of them. I was thinking "HA they're not getting through!" Then she looks down and sees they expired a while ago. HA.
And then they start talking about their plan for if the CM doesn't let them through. They were going to burst through anyway and push the CM out of the way because "there's more of us than them"! :sad2:
I was pissed. We got up there and the CM let them all through. I was double pissed. I HATE RULE BREAKERS! They're the worst.

Mom hated this ride. She said it was the only ride she was actually afraid of since it was so small and she didn't like how she could look down and see all the metal posts holding her up. I was clear in the back and it was awful back there. So much jerkier than the front and it jerked on my gut and was painful. I usually love Space Mountain so I blame the back of the ride! We both decided that that was it for that ride.
We were tired and felt like crap and were sick of the crowds so we decided to head out before the next parade crowd decided to leave.

The Riverside bus was CRAZY busy but the French Quarter bus was already there and there was no one on it. SUCKERS. We hopped on and decided to walk back to Riverside. It was a great plan but our feet killed when we got back to the hotel. We decided we were just too tired to wake up for DTD the next day and decided we'd rather go straight to DHS. So I had to kill or Raglan Road reservation :( I was so looking forward to it but we felt it was more important to salvage our aching bodies!

Tomorrow is Broncos Sunday, sleeping in, DHS and Osbourne Lights! It would be my favorite day.

We watched Wishes too and my sister left after that. I told her to be careful because it would be a mad house. We stayed a little longer, it was still crazy. I was feeling a little under the weather too, so we finally left. I was sad we didn't make it longer, but I just couldn't do it.

Yeah, and it just wasn't worth it! I wanted to stay that late because of short waits but I think you would have to stay until like, 1AM to get to the short waits. It was just too stressful to deal with. And that's when I realized I would never be able to handle peak season. It was so draining to fight the crowds. I'm glad we gave up before we got too cranky!

Today was originally a DTD morning with a Raglan Road lunch and the rest of the day at DHS. We decided to sleep in instead and then just go straight to DHS. Mom woke up a half hour earlier and went to the hot tub. Our bodies were so sore from the long day before! I didn't sleep in as much as I wanted, I was too excited to get going :lmao: My poor body, having to deal with my stupid brain. I got ready and went to the hot tub to join my mom. Just with feet in, though. I didn't feel like getting all the way in! It didn't last long, we were soon ready to get going. We could have made our Raglan Road lunch if we hadn't canceled it but we were excited to get to a park. We were also pretty sick of eating!

With I in my Von Miller jersey and Ma in her kerchief (Some Xmas humor there, in reality she was in her Champ Bailey jersey, I don't know what a kerchief is, but it sounds small so I hope Ma was wearing more than just a kerchief)

It only took getting to the bus stop to remember why I do rope drop. The bus stop was PACKED. We barely got on the DHS bus. The last two mornings there was no one there! Dumb.
We got to DHS at about 10:30, an hour and a half after open. We weren't planning on TSM so no big deal.

(FYI, it wasn't cloudy, that's from my honeymoon. I didn't take many pictures this day so to make it not boring I'm just going to use some of the stock photos I have from previous trips! You'll notice my DH sneaks in one of the pictures...lol)

The first stop was going to be the two non-TSM headliners to checkout wait times and FP times and come up with a plan!

(it was busier than this and had Christmas decorations ;) )

The wait for TOT was about 30 minutes so we decided we'd grab fast passes which weren't too far out and then hope in the regular line. It was definitely the longest line we waited in but it was going to work out really well since our FP time would be ready when we were through the line.

There were two 6th grade-ish kids in line behind us, a boy and a girl. They were SO CUTE. It was obvious they both liked each other and were flirting. They were bragging about how good they were in school and all their activities and just getting to know each other. It was so cute :lovestruc
The posted wait time was pretty accurate.

DisneyWorld213.jpg

DisneyWorld214.jpg

I was so bummed that we zipped straight through the lobby! I wanted to take pictures and soak it in. It's one of my favorite parts of all of WDW, the lobby of TOT. So eerie! So no pictures of that :(
Except this stupid one
DisneyWorld218.jpg

Huh, looks like the elevator is out of order

Wonder how we're going to get to that party!

I LOVE THIS RIDE. Mom not so much. She hates drops. She thought it was well done but didn't like how it made her tummy feel. She promised one more ride with our FP and then no more! Okay Ma!
At this time our fast passes were already ready so we decided to use them right then! I think our second ride was better. A little kid in front of us disagreed. At least I think that's what the shrieking was.

While we were in the area we decided to go get Rock n' Roller Coaster fast passes. Well, I did while mom went to the rest room and got a soda. The return time was around noon so we decided we'd get lunch at that time. So we had about an hour to kill until then. We were going to try and contain ourselves to the area with some shopping but instead we decided to head over to the Muppets movie!
I LOVE THE MUPPETS! Any Muppets, all Muppets. We have every season of the original show. It makes my heart happy! It's currently my go-to sick-day show. Such a great show. My mom was confused by the pre-show area, she thought the attraction was going to be on those little TVs and was whining "can't we sit down?" :rotfl:
That's such a cute movie, we sat next to some kids so it was fun watching them try and catch things.

It was time for lunch now! I debated about getting lunch right before the roller coaster, but we were starving and had time to kill so we said "meh"
We ate at the burger place by TOT and RnRC. I can't remember what it was called but I'm sure you all now what I'm talking about.
I got the burger and mom got the fancier burger that came with onion strings and pickles (which I stole one of, I love pickles)

Mom's fancier burger

DisneyWorld220.jpg

There was cheese on it, you just can't see!

I actually really liked these, they were warm and juicy. I'm super picky when it comes to beef. Both me and my DH came from quality beef backgrounds, this wasn't THAT great but it hit the spot and was tasty enough.
It was time to use our RnRC fast passes so we headed that way. Mom got a kick out of the pre-show. She was pretty nervous, watching the cars ahead of her take off didn't help much but once it was our turn she was excited. She actually REALLY enjoyed it. She laughed the whole time. I think the fact that it was so smooth and not jerky like Space Mountain is why she liked it. And after the fact she didn't even realize it went upside down :confused3 I always thought it was pretty obvious.

Up next, we wander around for a bit, took breaks, and followed the game on my phone app!

I kinda like your picture of the ToT lobby.

She didn't realize it went upside down??? :upsidedow She must've had her eyes closed.

I think the burger place near RnRC is Rosie's All-American Cafe.

Joining in a little late here, but I love mother daughter trips! Looks like you both had a great time!

AHHH! HOCKEY'S BACK!
Alright, so with the busiest holiday season ever, paired with the return of my life in the form of hockey, I have been seriously vacant from the Dis lately.
I fully intend on getting back to my TR ASAP (just not today :) )
We just got a new (used) car so that's been fun! Casey had an interview and they asked him in for a second scheduled for tomorrow.
We also bought a kegerator for the homebrew! Cuts a couple weeks off the total time to brew and it tastes better on tap!
SO much going on, SO stressed, but happy and ready to get back to Disney!

Hopefully you all didn't lose interest :rotfl:
Sorry!

Alright, I'm back and ready to update some more. Honestly, I wish I would have done this sooner as we were following the Broncos game the entire segment of this trip and after their awful loss last week I kind of don't want to think about the Broncos for a while :lmao: At least my Avs are back (even though they suck :( )
The next couple hours was relatively uneventful. We just walked around and took in the sights. Had some snacks! Wanted a cocktail, couldn't find a cocktail (50's was PACKED in the bar, no chance at that).
Apparently wearing a Broncos jersey made me a score expert. I got SO many people asking me the scores of random games. I DON'T KNOW THE SCORE OF THE LIONS GAME! I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE LIONS! Ugh. Also, I got talked to so much that I started to think older men were just trying to confuse me and catch me not knowing something. Which was stressful because I'm so much more into hockey. I know Broncos but stop talking to me about the NFL! I don't know things :furious:
Next time we go maybe it can be hockey season and I WILL know everything in the world

Anyways, we shopped a little (didn't buy anything) and relaxed for hours. Took a stroll through One Man's Dream (love it) but the movie was 15 minutes away. I've seen it and loved it and mom didn't want to wait that long. (plus I really had to pee). We didn't want to go back to the resort since we had to be back that night for Osborne lights and A reservation at Sci-Fi
DisneyWorld221.jpg

DisneyWorld222.jpg

DisneyWorld223.jpg

DisneyWorld225.jpg

Ugh, look at all those people!

We saw that Star Tours was only about a 20 minute wait and I love the line so we decided to hop on. DH LOVES Star Wars and so do I.
This is definitely one of my favorite rides and this ride we got a great sequence.
All I'll say is the underwater scene on Naboo is the BEST.
We saw that Fast Pass return was for about 5:30 and since we had to be in that area for the lights at 6 it just seemed right to grab a fast pass. We then had a craving for some ice cream and grabbed a bench and some mickey bars (no pictures, I'm sorry because I know how nobody knows what those look like)
At this point it was about 2:30-3 ish and we were BORED. :confused3 All the lines were too long unless it was something less excited than we'd already encountered. None of the show times worked out. So I had the brilliant idea of taking the boat over to the Epcot area and walking around the Boardwalk area.
The line was pretty long but the boats are big so we got in line. We just BARELY missed out on the boat but the captain said he had another one come in 10 mintues.
After 30 minutes of waiting we decided to leave. Even if a boat came in less than 5 minutes we just wouldn't have much time to do anything once we got off the boat (of course it DID come as we were walking away urgh).
Being tired and having no plan, we decided to sit outside a bit by the tree and relax

DisneyWorld226.jpg

(She would kill me if she saw me post this! haha!)

DisneyWorld227.jpg

DisneyWorld228.jpg

It didn't take long until we realized this was stupid. If we were just gonna sit, why didn't we find a place to sit inside? With awesome things to look at? So we re-entered the park and went over to where the lights would be (even though we were over an hour away from 6pm).
We each got a glass of wine and found a seat on the curb.

DisneyWorld229.jpg

DisneyWorld230.jpg

DisneyWorld231.jpg

Looking at the clock, at this rate there were gonna be some problems with getting bored. We had an hour to kill and no plan!
Well, what better to kill time that Mulch Sweat and Shears! They pulled right up in front of us and played for about a half hour (all fun Christmas themed music). It was AWESOME and a great way to spend the rest of our time there. Mom was really impressed.

DisneyWorld232.jpg

DisneyWorld233.jpg

The band was finished and we decided to go use our Star Tours fast passes before it was time to see the lights again. The guy taking tickets at the fast pass line saw me jersey and said "ugh a Broncos fan!" So I ask him who he roots for thinking it would be like the Chiefs or Chargers or Raiders or heck even the Patriots. Something that made sense at least. And he says the Dolphins :confused3 Ooookay you must not like any teams if you respond that way to the Broncos lol. Oh well. And he of course has to ask us the obvious question: are we Tebow fans!? NOOO! And my mom yells at me because the little kid in front of us is in a Jets jersey as if I can't diss Tebow in front of a little Jets fan. Mom...it's a Sanchez jersey, he probably hates Tebow, too!
On the way in I said "I hope we get to go to Hoth this time" (I love the ice planet Hoth)

wait, who's that! ;)
And what do ya know! We did! Mom LOVED that ride which was good because so did I.
At this point the lights were on and it was dark and we head towards the lights. I have tons of pictures so I'm going to do that in the next post!

Osborne Lights are amazing. I don't even want to go back to Disney without those lights (:rotfl: jk obviously)

With half the people in the park at the Lights show and the other half at the first F! showing, Star Tours was a walk on so we did it TWO more times. I called Casey to tell him all the scenes we saw and he was amazed at how few repeats we had over four rides. The guy doing the ride manning the exit looked at us and said "YOU two again?" haha. Love that ride.

But, after four times, it takes a toll on your tummy so we were done with that!

We had an hour to kill before our dinner reservation at 8:05 at Sci-Fi and could NOT think of what to do. Then I remembered that I had TOTALLY forgotten about the Great Movie Ride! The wait was 20 minutes which would be pushing it because it's a long ride but we needed to ride it so we hopped in line. I'm really glad we did because months after our trip my mom still calls that one of her favorites. :confused3 she loved it!
I have to say, I did not predict what her favorites would be very well :rotfl:

Timing was perfect because we had ten minutes to get from Movie ride to Sci-Fi and we got there at the perfect time.

We sat down in a car in the back and I immediately started to feel weird. I think I dislike eating in weird places. It was too quiet and too dark and it was just weird.
We each got an alcoholic milk shake (she got the vanilla one with Kahlua and Bailey's and I had the chocolate one with banana liquor and coconut rum) both were FANTASTIC
DisneyWorld249.jpg

Mom got the tomato bisque and loved it
DisneyWorld250.jpg

and I had the onion rings
DisneyWorld251.jpg

OMG best onion rings EVER. These were SO yummy. I LOVED them.

We decided to split the Turkey Sandwich
DisneyWorld252.jpg

But I was feeling weird and wanted to leave so we finished our drinks and then asked for a box. We were probably in there for like, 20 minutes :rotfl:
We were leaving the park at the exact time F! was letting out and it was crowded.
Riverside was super packed and had a full bus there already :scared1:
But then we saw a French Quarter bus pull up and it had ten people in it... so we decided to take that bus again. We REALLY enjoyed the walk this time since we were in great moods, our feet didn't hurt, and I didn't have indigestion :lmao:

We got back to the room and stayed up for a couple hours watching the other football game that was still going on. We had a great day planned for the next day full of relaxing!

The agenda for today involved a quiet morning at MK, cocktails, a couple of deluxe resorts, and an awesome dinner at Epcot. It was probably my favorite day outside of our DHS day :goodvibes
We woke up at headed out, intending to get to MK around opening time but not much earlier. We decided to split our turkey sandwich for breakfast and we headed to the bus stop to eat it there while we waited for the bus.
And it was PACKED. I could NOT figure out why there were so many people going to MK (and I could tell that's where they were going because we watched bus after bust pull up to the other three parks and no one got on). No on ever gets there at opening! And then I realized...the opening times had changed since I had put my itinerary in my phone to account for the large crowds. And MK was opening at 8 not at 9! We were an hour late! :scared1:

Luckily, once we got to the park it wasn't too bad. It wasn't rope drop empty but we were able to get a lot done. Our MK plans were to knock out tomorrowland and fantasy land and we had until about 1:30 to do it. I wasn't too worried. Especially because we weren't doing Space Mountain again after doing it on Hell Saturday.

(yes, I DID wear the same shirt two days in a row. Broncos had a huge win and Von MIller #58 had a big game and I was stoked!)

DisneyWorld254.jpg

We decided to ride Winnie the Pooh first, I figured my mom would love it since she seemed to have loved some other "stupid" rides so far and she LOVES Pooh

DisneyWorld255.jpg

Mom thought I should stand up there and pretend to drink tea with them
DisneyWorld256.jpg

It didn't work out...
DisneyWorld257.jpg

DisneyWorld258.jpg

DisneyWorld259.jpg

She loves Pooh!

But she thought the ride was lame :confused3 Cute, but she wouldn't wait in line for it again.

We decided to get some fast passes for Peter Pan since we didn't want to wait for 30 minutes to ride it and then we got a free Philharmagic fast pass! We decided to head that way since I had heard good things but never seen Philharmagic. It was amazing! So relaxing, too. I think I would love it on a hot, long day

Next we decided to do Small World. I warned her that it was a little corny. But it's historic and super Disney and she had to ride it.
And do continue the trend of me incorrectly guessing what rides she would like, she LOVED IT. She cried. No joke. I looked over when we got to the white room with all the different ethnicities singing together and she was weeping.
It was cute. She loved it.

It was time for Peter Pan so we headed that way and cruised through the line.
And she hated it?! Thought it was stupid and didn't think it was charming at all to make up for the stupid...

So there you have it. My mom hated Peter Pan and loved Small World :cool1:

At this time, mom was getting hungry, and I had to use the restroom and we were done with Fantasy Land. So we decided that mom must have a Main Street Bakery cinnamon roll. She headed that way and I headed to the restrooms by the Plaza.
The line was awful at Main Street bakery so I sat outside and took pictures while I waited for her!

Once mom had her cinnamon roll in hand we headed to a table over my the Plaza to eat it.

YUMMMMM!
DisneyWorld269.jpg

Nothing better.

When we were done it was time to tackle tomorrowland. While mom was getting her cinnamon roll I had grabbed some fastpasses for Buzz. Our only agenda in tomorrowland was People Mover, Buzz, and Carousel of progress so we headed to the People Mover since Buzz wasn't ready yet

DisneyWorld273.jpg

DisneyWorld276.jpg

Next was Buzz.....
I hate this ride. I'm so competitive and I just suck at everything. Including this. I was excited because I HAVE to beat my first time mom who sucks at video games.
Well, 2 seconds into the ride she hits a target worth 100,000 points and is WAY ahead of me the entire rest of the ride.
NOOOOOOO!
Crap.

Next was Carousel of Progress. I love this ride. Great song and I love the history of the ride itself. Mom thought it was really neat and totally worth it. I was glad she liked it :worship:

Next we decided to take a ride on the train. I wanted to see the Dumbo area so we took the train and got off there.

We were getting hungry even though it was only 12. We decided to head to the Grand Floridian early and look around before lunch and see if we could get in early!

DisneyWorld288.jpg

DisneyWorld290.jpg

It's simply beautiful. But we both agreed that we felt like we were underdressed just being in the lobby. Probably won't go back...
We did some shopping at the Basin and got a couple of Christmas soaps and some of the hand scrub. I think we got the grapefruit flavor.
We decided to check in early for lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe and only had a very short wait!
DisneyWorld291.jpg

The hostess's nametage said she was from Clinton, Iowa...our tiny hometown from before we moved to Denver! SMALL WORLD! So we talked with her a bit about Clinton and her kids for some reason. Pretty awesome

I got this
DisneyWorld292.jpg

A Strawberry Daquiri-esque thing. I think it had kiwi in it as well

Mom just got a plain old margarita
DisneyWorld293.jpg

I got the Grand Floridian Burger
:hyper:
SO GOOD. It was delicious. I highly recommend it. And it came with super fancy chips and super fancy ketchup. Delicious

Mom got the Reuben
DisneyWorld295.jpg

hated it. It was super fatty and gristle-y and not very good.

Up next we had a date with a certain pineapple drink....

We decided to walk over to the Poly. The construction areas were not great but we got to walk along the beach a bit before getting to the Poly lobby! My mom fell in love with this resort. She decided if we do a big family trip in the future she really wants to stay at the Poly! Hopefully that works out. I stayed at the Poly my first trip there and it was just marvelous.
We headed up to the bar because I had been DYING to try a Lapu Lapu! It didn't disappoint
DisneyWorld296.jpg

It was awesome! Super strong and awesome. Mom got the backscratcher but they were out of backscratchers! The bartender made a funny joke about China being super behind in making small, wooden backscratchers :D
DisneyWorld297.jpg

She liked mine better :cool1:

We decided to take some pictures with the drinks to send my dad so we could make him think we were totally partying
DisneyWorld298.jpg

DisneyWorld300.jpg

When we were done with the drinks we decided to head back to the resort and maybe to Downtown Disney. We had time to kill before needing to get to Epcot. I was confused about how to get to DTD. I knew you couldn't get there from the parks so we just caught a bus back to the resort instead. We hung out for a bit and freshened up before wanting to head to Epcot. Mom forgot to put her make up on that morning and was complaining about it all day :rotfl2: so we had to get that fixed!
I'm pretty sure I took a nap because there's some time unaccounted for...
Anyways, it was time to go to Epcot for a highly anticipated meal! VIA NAPOLI! I was so excited about this. I had heard such great things!
We left an hour and a half before our reservation which I thought would be perfect. We went up to the bus stop and saw an Epcot bus drive away but weren't too worried. We had given ourselves plenty of time and the buses so far had taken a lot less time to come again.
45 MINUTES! UGH! I was so stressed about the time at this point! And the bus was packed. These really annoying women were complaining and yelling at the bus driver every time he made a stop. SHUTUP! He's doing his job :drive:
I was already irritated but I really wanted to yell at them.
We finally got there and then rushed back to Italy just in time! It was the last day of Food and Wine and it was pretty busy. The line to get into Via Napoli without a reservation was UN REAL. And the park was only about an hour from closing. What a waste of time. No chance to get seated.
DisneyWorld301.jpg

So I totally underestimated all the reviews that said it was noisy in there...Holy crap. SO LOUD. And packed and busy and not an enjoyable atmosphere. If we go back it will definitely be for lunch! The waitress took our order and I was wanting to be out of there quick so we could get a spot for Illuminations. We ordered drinks and food at the same time and asked for our bill right then.
I think she misunderstood us because she never brought the bill until we were done eating.
We got the Four Cheese Pizza, the tomato and mozzarella salad, mom got Sangria, and I just got a water.
Well...the pizza and salad came out before our drinks! Probably about 2 minutes after we ordered it...
DisneyWorld302.jpg

DisneyWorld303.jpg

DisneyWorld304.jpg

a-maze-ing. Best pizza ever! I loved it! I really want to go back on the next trip. delicious.
Weird service, though :confused3
The food came out so fast and we devoured it because it was so good so we didn't have any issues getting out of there and searching for a spot to catch the fireworks

We found a spot next to the big stage in America and no one was around. We had about 30 minutes to kill and chatted up the couple next to us. Talking about how much fun we all were having!
Then they started! Illuminations was SO much better than I remember. I was in awe the entire time! It was awesome.
As we were turning to leave we saw my mom's ex-students and their parents! Small world! So we paused a chatted a bit about how much fun Disney World is
We headed out very slowly and let the crowds beat each other up and we took some pictures.
