" when I grow up......."

I wanted to be a teacher. I'm a substitute teacher which is close enough. :)

Marine Biologist until my junior year of high school. Then I made All-State Band and decided to major in music education. Now I oversee the certification process for a physician association. Never wanted to be behind a desk, but there ya go.

I don't really remember what I wanted to be when I was little. My DD4 has recently informed me that whan she grows up she does not want to be a mom. She wants to be a Disney Princess and marry Prince Eric.:rotfl2:

I wanted to be a writer and that's what I am today. :cool1:

I never wanted to get married though. I wanted to work at a local tv station and be the next "Diane Sawyer." That part didn't work out so well. Well, I'm married for the last three years in June to a great guy I've known for 9 years and I work at home as a travel writer instead and love it.

Anna

I wanted to be an orchestra conductor. I became a public school band director/choir director. I hit pretty close to the mark, I guess! :rockband:

Dolphin Trainer and Paleontologist :thumbsup2

And nope - I'm just a business person today :confused3

When I was 5 years old I wanted to be a taxi driver.
Around 10 I wanted to be a veterinarian.
Then an actress at 13
At round 14 I decided being an actress was unreasonable and that I would be a physiatrist. :confused3 Not sure why!
For as long as I can remember I wanted to write books in my free time.
Now I’m a senior in high school and plan on being an elementary school teacher. Time will tell if that happens. :)

I wanted to be a teacher.
Now I am a teacher.
I am not sure if I want to be a teacher forever.

Actually I used to tell people that when I grow up I want to be tall. Not gonna happen!

I wanted to be a nurse. I am a nurse.

I'm one of the most boring people on the planet. :)

When I was young, I wanted to be a veterinarian. When I was a teen, I wanted to be a model. By the time I graduated from high school, I wanted to be an interior designer. I ended up with a degree in Education/English. I worked for 30 years designing software systems. I also taught school and ran a gift basket business. Now, I'm a Dream Maker for the Disney Florist. Odd how things worked out!

For the longest time I wanted to be a scientist. An astronomer, and the first woman (and person) in Mars.

Life turned out nothing like I dreamed it would, lol

When I was really young I wanted to grow up and be a wife and a mommy and have lots of kids. I grew up in the 60's / 70's though and during the time I was growing up we had the equal rights movement and staying home and being a mommy was not perceived as cool / worthwhile. There was a lot of pressure to "do something with your life". So then I wanted to be a newscaster. I ended up in the financial services industry in management - now in projects. I like my original plan better. I did marry and have one kids. Nothing I do at work is nearly as meaningful and / or rewarding as what I do at home. Now I am on the downward slope and cannot wait until the day I can retire.
