What did you want to be when you were wee ?

And what did you end up doing ?

I wanted to be an Actor but ended up a Hairdresser.

Still watch the Oscars and think what might have been..........:sad1:

Nope, I'm a resort conciere :rotfl:

I have 9 birds and 5 cats, does that count? :rolleyes1

I wanted to be a nun or a movie star. The closest I've come to either was a starring role in a movie that's in the Harvard library and some billboard modelling.
The last thing that I ever thought I'd be was a SAHM but I am and I love it!

Ha, when I was little this is what I said:

"I want to be a zookeeper, a veterenarian, and a taxadermist"

Keep in mind I was like 3 years old and I only knew the word taxadermist because it was in the book "Maybe you should be a vet, maybe you should fly a jet" or something like that and I liked the picture of the animals! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

At 8 I wanted to be a scientist. I liked to mix up all the shampoos, perfumes, and after shaves in the bathroom to create something new. I was pretty bad at it. Nothing good ever came out of it. So I moved on.

At 11 I wanted to be a football player. I'm a woman, so that didn't work out too well.

At 13 I wanted to be a writer of romance novels. Since my attention span was rather short and I could never finish one story before starting another, I didn't get very far.

At 15, I came up with the perfect career for me. I was going to be a journalist. I could write, the projects would be short enough for my small attention span, and I could end up being the next Barbara Walters.

I now help my husband run his business. A business that has nothing to do with science, newspapers, sports, or romance novels.

Urban planner, a la Robert Moses.

I wanted to be a teacher since the third grade. So, I got my math degree and taught 7th-9th grade for two years. I learned that you should never make life decisions in the third grade.

I wanted to be the next Joe Perry...never did get those guitar lessons, though. Now I'm 34, have been doing data entry for 10 years, just lost my job, and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

I wanted to marry my soul mate/best friend and become a mom. And that's exactly what I did! I feel very fortunate.

I am just about in the same boat but a little different. When I as younger I wanted to be a teacher, a mom, or a dancer (I wanted to be in music videos since I was a kid). I am 35 yrs old and have been doing data entry for almost all my life as well as an administrative assistant stuff.
In the past 6 years I have been through 3 different jobs and the one I am at now I will probably be getting laid off by June due to a take over....I never went to school to become a teacher, I don't have kids yet (although we have been trying for alomst 2 yrs with no luck) and the dancer part...well let's just say that didn't happen.
so needless to say I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up! :)

I wanted to be a dentist.

I'm a teacher. :)

My only definite plan was to be a mom and to be rich. I accomplished the being a mom part. :rotfl:

I wanted to be an artist who designed and built dioramas and displays in museums. I loved both as a kid.

I became a wife and mom and part time retail worker.
I still love museums and dioramas. :)

I wanted to own a grocery store, be an astronaut, and be a doctor. I'm halfway through medical school, so if all goes well, I'll get to be one of the 3.

Actually, when I was little, I used to love playing with those toy doctor's kit. But one time, my mom bought me a nurses kit because it had a picture of a girl on the front (otherwise, it was exactly the same, just said Nurse's Kit on the front) and I apparently threw a fit saying I wanted to be a doctor and not a nurse. My mom ended up returning it and getting the doctor kit. I was around 4 at the time, I don't remember it, but my mom tells that story to everyone.

My plans weren't really specific, but I knew I wanted to have the type of job that would allow me to live in a high-rise apartment building in a city somewhere, far from the rural area where I grew up. When I was riding the school bus home, I used to pretend that I was coming home from work to my fabulous apartment. I've never lived in a high-rise, although I do live about 20 minutes from a major city.
