When I called WDW to see if I have a PIN...

So for our last trip to WDW (June 2012) I called sometime in March and HAD a PIN under my name and we got a fabulous discount...so we have another trip coming up this June and I called last night to see if I had another PIN and here is what happened...

Call #1 - the agent kept fading in/out and was obviously having issues with her line and when we could hear each other and I asked about a PIN she kept asking what was the PIN # I had been provided so she could look it up and see what the discount was...

hhmmm.:confused3..not really what I was asking for I was hoping SHE could tell ME if I had a PIN....

but then I couldn't hear her anymore so I hung up and redialed..

Call #2 - the agent was clear as a bell so I thought we were off to a good start! (I did notice that the automated information I was asked before I was connected to an agent was different both times..) so I went through my information that I had 2 reservation, a room only first and then a package and I wanted to check and see if I had a PIN # attached to my name to apply it to one or both of the reservations...

So she asked me for the first confirmation number and I gave her the package number.....typing, typing, typing..and she comes back and says..'NO, I don't see a PIN available for this reservation, lets try the other confirmation number"..so I give it to her and...typing...typing..typing..and she says the same thing again, "nothing available for this reservation"..

so I'm confused and perhaps just overthinking this..BUT I thought that the PINs were attached to my name and not my reservations - like she should have looked under my name/address and told me if I had a PIN and not looked under my current reservations for a PIN.

BUT maybe that's what they've always been doing and I just didn't realize it??

OR perhaps this means I need to call and try Agent #3?

I will call later in the month b/c if memory serves me right it was later in March when I called and got my last PIN...

am I totally confused??? :headache:
 
What I would do is call back and not mention you have a current reservation. I would call and just ask if there is a PIN attached to your name. That is what I have done in the past. A couple times there was a PIN attached to my name and then I informed the CM that I had a current reservation and would the PIN work for that reservation. It did work once, but the other 2 times I had to switch resorts or switch room type.
 
I was thinking about doing that too! I also went in and requested the planning DVD - My DH has a Disney account too and he's gotten a TON of promotional emails lately and keeps bragging that he'll probably get the PIN under his name...:crazy2:..but as long as it works on our trip, I don't care!!

I ordered a DVD a few weeks ago and got it the other day and noticed when it brought up my account that it had my DH's name on it -but I went ahead and ordered it...and when I went to order one for myself and it pulled up my address it has our OLD ADDRESS from 2 1/2 years ago as my shipping address..which is SO ODD b/c on my reservation it has the correct address..and I shutter to think of all of the PIN numbers that were mailed to our last house!!

I did change it so it has our current address...phew..

Bring on the PINs!!

I would say to just call and see if they have a pin with either of your names. It could be that the pin didnt line up with either reservation because they didnt match availability for your room category. We got the pin and applied it but had to change category from a pool view to a preferred (and still walked away with a lower price so still a win) so maybe you have a standard room booking and those were all gone? Worth the try!
 

What's the number to call??Is it 1-407-W-DISNEY? Is there a less busy time to call? I just called 1-407-W-DISNEY at 8am EST and the wait time is 45 minutes.

They changed they're system up a few years ago. Basically, you've got a family profile now in their system, a household grouping. Pulling up your reservation pulls up your household info in tandem. She didnt really need the second reservation since it should have been linked under your household, but whatever.

But yes, it'll tell them any pins you have available when they look you up. They can still look you up by your personal info and it'd pull up the same screens that the reservation does. So, if you have one program and 3 tabs every time you open it - typing your name and address will just pull the program up with a different ab first than the reservation, but they can still toggle between them. Hope that made sense.

What you have booked won't effect the pin showing up. When they check availability WITH the pin, that's when they see if rooms are available or not. The pin itself will show regardless.
 
They don't call them pins anymore. They are called UOC, unique offer code. Newer CMs might no know the old terminology.

I didn't apply a PIN myself b/c you can't do that - I was able to apply the newly released public discount myself! When you pull up your reservation you have an option to "change reservation" and then it will take you to a screen that shows what you have and then the available discounts and then it showed me what my current price was vs. the new discount price and I then "purchased" it, and it replaced my old package rate with my new package rate..

Simple as that!
 
That sounds cool!! I only wish I could have a UOC because the current discount I have for my stay in July is 25% for the Contemporary Resort.
