When during your stay would you prefer club level?

Aside from all of it. :rotfl2: Tomorow is my 7 month date to change to AKV and by some miraculous feat, though I know it could change in a heartbeat, some CL rooms at AKV are remaining open. :wizard: We'll be at THV 5-6 nights then moving over to AKV. If you could have 2 CL nights would you prefer them the nights right after THV or the last two nights of the trip? My instinct is saying the last two nights as our groceries supplies will be thin if at all existent after 9 days at Disney. Also I believe you can use CL services even on the day of check out. It would only be the morning but still a nice benefit.

If we choose the first nights after THV that would enable us to do the Sunrise Safari as it will be a Sunday morning.

This is tough.

Or you would bag CL all together as its not all that anyway and just stay the 5-6 nights at Kidani and not hassle with the change?

IMO the only reason to stay club level is for the Sunrise Safari. The food offerings are a snack at best and unless you get there when the food is put out, you may lose out.

Thanks Bill, that's good to know. From the pics I've seen on the AKV mega thread, it makes it look wonderful and plentiful. I wasn't planning it for meals but definitely for a quick bite before hitting the parks and afternoon snacks. They don't replenish?

I stayed there 3 or 4 years ago, we stayed Friday to Monday so that we could do the Sunrise Safari on Sunday. You can use the lounge all day on your checkout day, we went back in the afternoon to relax before going to the airport.

When we were there they did replenish but often you had to wait, especially during the evening appetizers. They brought out 3 different plates of food at a time. People piled up their plates, leaving nothing for other people waiting.

Thanks Debbie. Why do people have to take it all? :headache: I'm glad they replenish though. I'd think if the hours say 5-7, they'd have to have appetizers flowing until then. Who wants to pile their plate high and eat cold food? Glad to know about possibly having to wait.

Excellent on lounge access during check out day. :thumbsup2

So basically I have to decide between snacks, the safari, and not having a stellar view but feeling kinda cool having CL access. I think the kids would love it.

We enjoy the breakfast offerings, especially the blueberries. The potato chips in the PM snacks are a real threat to my diet!
We enjoy concierge level, and I hope you get to enjoy it too!

:goodvibes I'm looking forward to it. Mmm....love chips too. I think I'm leaning towards the end of our stay. Two of the kids are doing a YES class in AK so that gives them a little private time on the safari ride. I know it's not sunrise, but it should be pretty cool.

Does concierge offer water bottles to take with you? I'm sure we'll be out by then. Maybe refillable ones even?

My first day of our June trip is CL studio which is a Wednesay so we could do the sunrise safari on Thursday morning. We then move to a BCV 1br for 4 days and then a 1br at VWL to finish up. It is pretty much take what you can get at 7 months. At 7 months being flexible is the key to putting together a fun DVC stay.

Enjoy that safari. Everything I have read makes it sound so special.

:goodvibes I'm learning to be more flexible. It's hard to teach this dog that new trick. If there weren't so many great resorts to choose from, it would so much easier...not that I'm complaining. I feel very fortunate to have to make this tough decision. :cloud9: So excited to try so many new things this trip.

Here's to hoping CL stays open my last two days. :wizard:

Since your AKV CL reservation is a new reservation, I'd book whatever days you can get. If you wait for the end of your trip, it might not be available. But if you book it as soon as you can, you'll have it if you really want it.

So if you are booking two nights CL and a few nights AKV non-CL, that would be two separate reservations and you can't book until the first night of each stay is 7 months out.

Thanks! So if I book the 20/21 with check out the 22, does that mean we'll still have access to the CL even though we'll be rechecking in to the AKV SV on seperate reservation?

If CL by chance opened up for the 19, I might be tempted to kiss the CM right through the phone. That would enable me to keep my planned switch resort date of 10/19. Here's hoping.......

I can't believe that any of these are even an option. I didn't think I had a chance in Hades. :woohoo: I know, I know, it could change at any moment.

You have access to the CL for the whole day of check in and check out.

There are not water bottles, there are pitchers of ice water to use to fill glasses, or I suppose to fill reuseabe water bottles.

Thanks again Bobbi. Cool, I can just refill our clean bottles. So even before the room is ready? Might not make homelessness as painful though if all goes well, we'll be at the water park on change day.

Thanks again for all of the replies. We've never stayed CL but have stayed a AKV so the prospect of combining the two has me over the moon.

When I stayed there, we stayed in a regular studio the night before. We checked in at concierge around 8:00am, our room was not ready but we were able to eat breakfast there.

That's terrific! And you found the breakfast fare good? I have a feeling CL is going to make me feel a little spoiled. Does daily maid service come? I thought I read something briefly but it's still DVC so I'm not sure.

If I remember correctly it oatmeal, cold cereal and fruit. Breakfast is a busy meal so get there early.

They have that great oatmeal that they serve at Boma. Pastries, fruit.

Yes, you get daily maid service plus turndown each night. If you buy something in the park, they deliver it direct to the room.

Sounds great! We can add a bagel or toast with PB from the room.

DH loves oatmeal so he'll be very happy. :thumbsup2 In fact all my kids love oatmeal.

Maid service and turndown? I may never leave. If this is as neat as it sounds, I'm going to need an AKV add on just for CL.

There's toast and bagels and assorted pastries in the lounge as well. I thought the hot cereal was usually quinoa (which is certainly similar to oatmeal.) We never have to supplement breakfast - the offerings are pretty substantial.

Thanks! I thought I saw breads and bagels in the some of the photos along with a lot of fruits and juices, that's what we'd normally eat so it's perfect. :thumbsup2 Oh and coffee, have to have my coffee. I'm so excited! :woohoo:
