When does your school start back up ?

Ours is similar - they start end of July/beginning of August. Then get two weeks out in October, a full week at Thanksgiving, two weeks at Christmas, two weeks in March, and are usually done around the 3rd week in May. I actually like the frequent breaks a LOT, it just makes it tough to go back so early, especially when so many of her friends are in other districts and still have several more weeks of summer.

I think I like that schedule..! Although our thanksgiving is in October.. It still looks a lot more balanced

Ours here in Ohio are starting August 11th which is 2 weeks earlier then usual. I just wondered are most school starting early this year or is it just ours ? I thought maybe it may effect crowds in August and May if everyone is changing

August 1 here. It has started that early for years, but the kids get out for summer mid-May.

New York City public schools start back Sept 4th, and get out at the end of June. We're going to Disney the last week in Sept this year, because school is closed two days that week for Rosh Hashana.

Middle school "transition day" August 4 - Elementary Aug 6.

week and a half off in October, regular Christmas break, 2 weeks in March, and Good Friday. Last day May 22ish.

They are ready to go back.

Kids are back in classroom 3 weeks from yesterday, Aug 7th. teachers return 8/1. It's normal start time for us. We get out shortly before Memorial Day, have a week break in fall, 3 weeks in winter and 1 week in spring.

Michigan schools can't legally start until after Labor Day. I don't know exactly when we start but it's usually the day after around here.

aug 25 here,got out june 20th.

..back in the day when I was a kid we got out the second week of june and went back after labor day.I much prefer that over the almost continuous schedule they have now.

Sept. 2nd. ....180 days are required---and since we live in a snowy area- they actually do 184 leaving 4 days for 'snow days' just in case. We often use them and then some. Last day was June 18th I think.

When I was in school, we never had 'snow days' - I'm in toronto, we used to hope and pray and beg for snow days lol, we never had school cancelled because of weather. We were sent home early the odd time once I hit middle school we were told, 'well were not supposed to tell u to go home, but if u have ur parents permission, ur allowed to leave'. My son who's now 8 all winter long was like is ther enough snow, is it cold enough for a snow day and I was like keep dreaming kid, we never have them ur in the same school district so it's not happening!! I would have LOVED snow days!!! But I hate snow lol so it's a toss up!

We start back the Wednesday after Labor Day where I am in MA, some places will start the week before Labor Day here. We are heading to Disney the last week in August before Labor Day to try and take advantage of the possible lower crowds that week.

kiddo is dual enrolled in two schools. august 14th for part one. then her other classes start two weeks later.

It is a state law in Michigan that public schools cannot begin until after Labor Day, intended to boost tourism with in the state.

It can make for some good deals when value season pricing starts mid-August. Now I own DVC so that doesn't matter as much anymore, but we have taken advantage of it in the past.

August 12 here in SWMO-it is earlier, however the goal is to have semester end before Christmas break, and school (with no snow days to make up) will be out the week before Memorial day. This past school year they had so many snow days to make up they had to go back after Memorial day (High schooler had finals those last days after MD).
