I was just curious ... if you're headed to Disney soon, when will your Christmas decorations at home go up?

We're starting to put up our Christmas trees (9 of them) this weekend. DH  Christmas!

We leave for Disney in a few weeks and hate the thought of tackling Christmas decorations when we get home in mid-December! We've decorated early like this for the past few years and love coming home in December to a decorated house!

Just curious what the rest of you do?

Christmas decorations already?!?!? I have to tell my DH this. He thinks I'm nuts for putting them up the Sat after Thanksgiving! :rotfl:

The weekend after Turkey Day. Last year we were in the WDW for T-Day so we decorated most the weekend before we left and the tree and rest the weekend we got home.

I like to decorate for Christmas on Dec 1st.

Last year we were in Disneyland the beginning of Dec so I left setting up the tree til we got home. And you know, I really didn't feel like it.

This year Hubby and I are in WDW from Dec 6 - 11. The boys (15 & 16)are staying home. I'll put the decorations up Dec 1st and probably do a batch of Christmas baking before I leave.

My oldest is doing Dad's job (courier) while we are away, so I'm going to see if they what me to make up some meals for them before I leave - probably not but I'll ask, anyways.

We start decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving. However, we will be away for Thanksgiving and the following week next year, so we will put them up the weekend before Thanksgiving so the house is decorated when we return.

My DH won't let me put Christmas music on before the end of Thanksgiving dinner, let alone take the decorations out in October.

I do start making and freezing cookie dough the first week of Nov.

We are going to Disney the first week of December so I am going to put my decorations up before we leave, hopefully the weekend before.

We put decorations up the week after Thanksgiving, too. If we go to Disney at Thanksgiving, it really rushes me. I have a huge tree, usually 13', so that can take a day or two all in itself. I have cut back the last two years. I got tried of a whole week of decorating, then a whole week of taking it down and putting it all back up. This year we are going to Disney Dec 13-17th, this won't interfer with decorating.

I'll be at WDW 11/3-16
Have started Christmas shopping (wknd after I return is Thanksgiving) but not decorating. I'll wait on that till my return

Thanksgiving weekend is the absolute earliest anyone in my area every puts up Christmas decorations.
If I did it this early, I'd be sick of looking at my 2 trees by Dec. 1st.

My family will do it the 1st or 2nd week of Dec.

We're not doing much this year though...as we'll BE IN WDW Dec. 20-26!! :yay:

I generally have mine up for Thanksgiving, we usually have company, so I like the house decorated then all I have to do is finish up shopping and wrap. But we are going to Disney like we did last year, so we put them up the first weekend in Nov. last weekend, and we will probably do the same this year. I have a father who is terminally ill this year as well, so time is extremely valuable to me, and we travel back and forth to my parents home, so I have to squeeze as much out of time as I can.

You are putting up your decorations early. I always like to wait until after Thanksgiving...and since DH is away for an annual meeting every year the weekend after Thanksgiving, we put ours up the following weekend after he gets home..so we have ours up the second saturday after thanksgiving.

I'm with you OP! My tree always goes up Nov. 1. I love to order pizza while we're decorating. The delivery boy always says we're the first ones with our tree up!:santa:

It's so much work to decorate, I couldn't bear to put it up in Dec. and take it down after just a couple weeks.

We start decorating the Friday after Thanksgiving. Even though we'll be at WDW from Dec. 19th through the 27th, we put everything up at home. In the past, we wait to take it down after New Year's. This year, I'm thinking about putting it all away the weekend before we leave. I just hate coming home to all of that work!

We always do ours Veteran's Day weekend! (or sometimes even a little earlier), because #1. We LOVE Christmas, and #2. It's so much work to put it up, I want to enjoy it as long as I can. ;)

Growing up, both of our families always did it Thanksgiving weekend. Now, we go visit them (alternating between families every other year) at Thanksgiving and get "stuck" helping them decorate their houses along with ours! We've started decorating the weekend before Thanksgiving weekend, so that ours is the first house we do (something about doing it twice really makes it feel like a chore, and I'd rather not be grumpy about it at home).

This year, both Thanksgiving and Christmas will be at our house because we're expecting #2 with a Dec. 1 due date!! I figure we'll decorate whenever I get that nesting instinct in November this year. :) Or, make our families help us with OURS this year when they come to help with the baby - LOL!

We usually do ours Thanksgiving weekend, but this year we are going to my moms...where we will be putting up *her tree! :lmao: So, ours will wait until the following weekend. We leave for Disney December 14th. :santa:

We are going to put up everything but the tree after Halloween. We buy a real tree, Thanksgiving weekend. We are going to Disney Dec 8-15, I hope we still have a live tree when we get back.

Does anyone bring small Christmas decorations with them to decorate your room when you are in Disney in December?

We'll be in WDW Dec. 20-26.

I plan on bringing some Disney Christmas window clings...if I can find some in stores around here. Otherwise, I'll pick them up in WDW.

I do plan on picking up some things here...I just haven't started looking at Christmas stuff yet...I'm trying to make it thru Halloween.

(I have ordered a X-mas tree that will be delivered to our room).

We usually begin putting up our decorations the week after Thanksgiving and are done with everything except the tree (we get a real one and I like it to last until mid to end Jan so I we wait until around Dec. 16 to put it up) by Dec. 1.

This year we are going to WDW Nov. 28 - Dec 8 right smack during my decorating time, so I will probably beging putting the decorations up the weekend before Turkey Day and be done by the Sunday after Thanksgiving and just leave te tree for when we get home...can you tell I    Christmas
