When does Yak & Yeti Open?

Last I read on these boards was that it's opening has been pushed back until January. Disney is not giving any specific opening date.

I called yesterday to confirm my reservations and asked about the Yak & Yet. The very friendly cm said that Y&Y was on schedule to be opening on Nov. 14th. He said they were not taking ressies as of right now but should be VERY SOON. He did emphasize very soon. I said I would keep calling daily and he said that would be the best thing.

Yak & Yeti is supposed to open in phases.

The table service portion of the restaurant is supposedly on schedule for the 14th; however, the counter service portion (Yak & Yeti Marketplace) will follow sometime after.

Everything I read refers to their food as being Asian Fusion. I haven't seen any specific menu items posted.

What is Asian Fusion? Sounds like some kind of a weapon. I called yesterday to check for my Dec. trip and the CM said they won't be taking ressies until January. I did get an ADR for lunch at Tusker House though.

Good one! Actually, Asian Fusian generally means food inspired by a number of Asian cultures. A little Chinese, a little Thai, a little Vietnamese, etc. My kids love Pad Thai and Vietnamese Pho, so I hope they're open for us at the end of this month.

I was there again today to take photos - unlike last week, it now looks almost ready! I was surprised. PLUS, they were test-cooking, it smelled wonderful outside.

When I spoke to a CM this morning, he checked with his supervisor and was told they would not be taking any ADR's for Y/Y until early in 2008. Was so hoping it would be open in early December, but it looks like we're out of luck. I made ADR for Tusker House instead and will be trying out their new buffet.

Now I called today and a VERY nice cast member told me they don't have it in the computer yet and they don't know when. She said they wouldn't know until they checked their computer each morning. So who do you believe I'm just going to keep trying and hope that it's open for January.
