When does WDW usually update Park Hours?

We are going on a Memorial Day weekend trip and have been told that WDW may change park hours. When does that usually happen? is this random or is it done every month? Any help would be appreciated.

Both.
They seem to do a major somewhere between 8 and 4 weeks out, roughly. But it's also done randomly too. You really never know and have to keep a close watch out for the hours.

Just remembered that I still have the email alert I got from Touring Plans for the park hour changes for my trip in April (21-26) (I've been bad at cleaning out email)
They changed some on 3/16 and some others on 3/17
I think there may have been a change done prior to those but can't remember for sure. Those changes above were fairly big ones

High jacking a little but any veterans who can tell me if they think MK will extend hours in the summer? Right now going to be there July 28 and shows a 10 pm close. Seems so early! Used to DL, which is open until midnight every night.

I read on the Touring Plans blog that they usually do an update around the middle of one month for the succeeding month. Is this everyones experience?

Hours that far out still have yet to be updated. I would anticipate a few nights a week extending to 11 or 12 closing, but I wouldn't anticipate all of summer to be open until midnight

Hours are usually updated about 30-45 days out. So May hours will likely be updated this coming week or so

I'm wondering about AK end of June into early July. It seems the 9PM closing is too early to enjoy Pandora at night.

I'd say you have a really good chance of a 10:00 close in your future

About 2 weeks ago i got emails from touringplans that parks hours got updated for my trip, which is 2 weeks from now (so the updates were about a month out).

For our March trip, they updated around the 1st of February.

And, it would not be unusual that they updated again, after that.

We were there last August and Magic Kingdom was closed at 10pm every night except one emh night it was open to midnight, but half the rides were closed. Was very disappointing. I wrote guest communications, they told me 'Walt himself said Disney is never finished, will always be improving ...yada yada whatever the generic we don't care response was. Hopefully it stays open until midnight this summer , but the trend seems to be 'take more things away'.

Any guesses on when we'll know about whether, and when, they will have Star Wars fireworks in August? It makes me crazy that we have to plan 180 days out for ADRs and 60 days out for FP+ but Disney can change park hours at the drop of a hat!

Star wars fireworks will be there. You'll just have to wait until closer for times. I'd look at last year's times to get an idea

Do you need a paid subscription for park hour alerts? Can the alert be by text?
