When does this WPASADI stuff end??

I don't really mind and am considering applying from audience BUT I did wonder why all the teams were checking in on the CB. I get the CB teams checking in on the CB but why aren't the resort board teams checking in on the resort boards? Or the Cruise board team checking in on their boards?

That is what confused me and I think contributed to the clutter.

I think what happened is that a poster like me mainly posts on the CB, but had to put down three forums. I wasn't chosen for a CB group, but instead for a Theme Park group, which is fine, but I wouldn't have thought to check there right away. So groups cross-posted on the CB, hoping to get the attention of people like me who are regular CB posters who ended up on another forum group.

I guess "snarky" is in the eye of the beholder.

Why are you some of you so defensive because someone or some people, asked why a game isn't on the Game Board? It seems like a logical question to me, being that every other time a game gets started on the CB it gets moved to the Game Board. Those of you playing the game may have understood the need for it to be on the CB, but others of us not playing the game didn't. Some were kind enough to explain, some were just plain defensive and "snarky" youselves.

It isn't just a game, it is a contest. While it is supposed to be fun, there are prizes to be won for those competing and those in the audience.

Is it really bothering you all that much?

There are MANY people here who only read topics of interest to them and don't click on certain "join a club" threads - like faux celebrity theads and things that appear to be games - so there are a lot of us who were in the dark.

It was not just talked about on the "club" threads or on the faux celebrity threads. It was also the main Announcement banner on the top of every board for a week (the banner that is now announcing a cruise special) and was also initially announced on the November 14th Podcast from Disneyland.

And to answer those that have asked why it was not on the games board. It is because this is not a game. It is an offical DIS contest, run by The DIS. By the time the contest is over, there will be some lucky DISers walking away with thousands of dollars in prizes. It is a board wide event, not just on the CB and it will be running through mid February.

I'm an very sorry if the excitement of the lucky DISers selected to play on a team for a chance of winning a cruise or a 7 night WDW vacaiton upset or inconvenienced some posters. I think it would be nice if you could all at least cut them a bit of slack. They worked hard to get to the point that they are now and they will be working very hard in the near future.

The posts for the majority will be on the sub board, but there will be posts that do get put on the Community Board from time to time. There will also be podcasts updating everyone on the status of the conest. If you really have no interest in the event, please just ignore anything referencing it. If you have any questions regarding the contest, please PM a mod or webmaster and I'm sure they will be glad to answer your concerns.

I can testify to that. I didn't post in the celebrity threads and don't even know what the "club" threads are (unless they are, like, the whole Chachi thing, in which case I'm guilty, but we never talked about WPASADI there.)

I saw the GIGANTIC banner thing and clicked on that...and up popped all the info my little DISheart desired. Sounded like fun, so I thought, "What the heck?" and applied.

Now that I lucked out and get to compete, I have to go find out exactly who Ty Pennington and Tim Gunn are in real life.

Honestly, if everyone who had no interest in threads other people enjoyed started complaining, half the board would be people talking about something and the other half would be folks complaining about them.

Can't we just leave the ones having fun to have it, without all the grumbling? It isn't hurting anyone.

I'm sure now that there are no longer a dozen threads on page one that a bunch of us were in the dark about, the "grumbling" will subside. Now you all can enjoy your game without having to waste time scolding those of us who didn't know what was going on.

Thanks for the explanation. Like I said I wasn't insanely bothered by it...just didn't get it.

I'm not sure that I get it and I'm one of the ones competing. And I'm sure that I'll need luck! And we need cheerleaders, so if anyone is interested, you can sign up for whichever team you'd like to sign up for (not exactly sure how a person signs up, but I could find out) and we'd love to have you!

I'm glad April started this thread to ask - and I am THRILLED to hear most of the threads will be moved to their own board.

I did not see the appeal in the last round and certainly don't see the appeal of this round so it'll be nice to not have to scroll past so many threads about it. I'm glad others find it fun and wish them luck.

There are thousands of members of these boards, yet only 200 can directly participate. Why can't something be created that would give everyone a chance to win these prizes? I visit the boards daily, but do not live on them-this game is something that many, many members cannot participate in due to time constraints.

I wasn't going to chime in, but I agree. Why create a game that is so limited? It only divides the board into even more of cliquey community.
