When does the resorts determine what room you will have, at checkin still?

Last year room request where not considered until checkin. It made no difference that we made the reservation at 11 months out. We drive and do not get to Disney until 3 or 4 pm and by then all of our request were already filled. Should we wake up sooner to get there sooner?

From the reports coming back, sometimes they assign rooms in advance, sometimes they wait until check-in. It probably depends on how many arrivals they have on a particular day and how full they are. It never hurts to get there earlier.

Waking up earlier and driving 400 miles does hurt a little. I will just wait and see. We are staying at Wilderness Lodge. Part of our trip last year was there and they did honor request when we got there which was early since we where already at DW.

DH and I jst got back from BCV and BWV and both times we arrived early only to find our rooms had already been preassingned and they would not change them. But- you can still check in and they will tell you in general where your room is and they'll store your baags so you can go to the parks etc. THey will givew you a card with a phone number on it for you to call around 4 to get your room number then. Good luck getting what you requested! I noted for us that the top 2 things we requested were met- hope that helps
