When does the Food and Wine Festival start?

I have read that the food and wine festival starts on Friday Sept. 30 and I have also read that it starts Saturday Oct.1. Does anyone know which it is? And also is the first weekend really busy?

Last year it started Sept. 30 Nov. 13! This year, maybe Sept. 29 till Nov. 13.

According to www.disneyworld.com web site, the Food and Wine Festival begins Sept 30, ends Nov 13. I know that the weekends throughout the festival are always busier - lots of locals attend this event. Can't comment on any particular weekend though.
