When does the Christmas decor go up in the World? Crowds?

Just wondering when the decorations go up? Are they up before Thanksgiving? If so, how are the crowd levels then? TIA!!!

Bump, I'm wondering the same thing, we want to go in November.

As I understand, the Christmas decorations start going up Nov. 1. I think some or all of the Christmas activities start some time in mid-Nov., like around the 13th or so. My family and I are going 11/25/07 - 12/2/07. We have already checked and were told that all of the Christmas events, etc. would be happening then. We were told by Disney that the week right after Thanksgiving is the best time crowd-wise to go to be able to see Christmas.

My sister was there this year during Halloween. They were at MK until midnight on 10/31. They were back there for breakfast on 11/1, and the park was almost completely decorated, characters in Christmas outfits instead of Halloween, etc. They were completely amazed at the transformation that occured between midnight and 8AM. Wish it was that easy at my house!

We were there nov 4 and most of the parks were decorated. More decorations were going up each day. The tree at MGM went up during that week as well was the tree at EPCOT. The resort decorations were just going up, but most did not have their trees yet. The prior year we had been there a week later and the resorts were putting up their trees.

We also notice Christmas music being played in the hub of MK.
