When does school start?

I can't believe this summer has gone by so fast! here in kentucky, schools in different areas start at all different times. the earliest i've heard of is this wednesday! school for me starts august 16--it's freshman orientation that day--but actual, full days of school begin on august 17. my brother then starts on the 18th. when does school start where you live?

Sept 8th....I couldn't imagine the kdis going back already, it would be way to hot in the schools for them to hold classes in there in August.

DS College starts Aug 25th.

We are a homeschool family and I have our first day back slated for Aug 16th. Although, we have really kept at it with review work all summer long.

The Public Schools start here this week Thursday on Aug 5th.

I'm in Owensboro Kentucky....the city schools here start this week..wednesday i think...and the county schools start next week I believe...I get to play cool uncle baby sitter for my teacher relatives kids! cant wait!

But I am getting kinda nervous myself..I decided to go back to college...start a real career...you know get a real job kinda thing...and we start in last august....i'm really nervous about going back....

DS18 starts his first year of college on August 16 and DD17 is a senior in high school and starts August 30!!!!!!!!

DS starts 1st grade August 16. YEA! But I still think the school day is too long---7:45-3:15, but I am glad they lifted that stupid strict dress code.

This is the first time in 8 years that I havent worked for the summer and Im loving it I could live like this always but I have to eat and pay the bills.
Oh well I still have 5 weeks to go!
