When does QVC have the American Girl Dolls?

This is my first year being interested ... however, what can I expect from this sale?

Last year was my first year. I ordered Lanie (the girl of the year) with her accessory pack. It ended up being maybe a $20 savings over buying directly from AG. It was definitely more the bundles with all the "extras," rather than just being a great deal on a doll or an outfit. I know they also had a Bitty Baby set, Bitty Twins, and I think a couple of the historical doll sets.

I actually ordered mine from the QVC Web site the day BEFORE the sale aired on TV, thanks to a tip on the Budget Board. The site was shut down later that day because too many were being ordered. Lanie sold out VERY quickly when she was actually on air. So keep an eye on the disboards for the presale scoop!

Just wanted to add that AG usually has a free shipping code in Nov. If you're not interested in the QVC bundles, you might want to watch for that. That's as close to a "sale" as AG gets, with the exception of a few clearance items on the Web site.

I think the sale will be closer to Xmas this year. Two new AG historical dolls are coming out at the end of August/beginning of September so I wouldn't expect anything before that. If I hear anything, I'll post here.

Just search the Web for Marie-Grace and Cecile. They are New Orleans girls from the 1850s I think. Their books are already written and coming out at the end of August. There are also rumors for a new single historical doll sometime next year. They are replacing the retired historical dolls, Samantha/Nelly, Felicity/Elizabeth, and Kirsten.

I am mostly interested in the Girl of the Year as well, so I don't want to get too hopeful, but it would be great if I could get her a tad cheaper. lol. My nearly seven year old mentioned wanting an Asian doll, and it's turned into me looking at getting her the Girl of the Year because my daughter is also obsessed with anything Hawaiian. Not to mention I'd like to get her Julie, since that's her nickname, and I can see how this can become incredibly expensive habit for me.

Ooooh, dear. I can see DD and her BFF wanting these Of course, both us moms are only to happy to oblige if it means keeping our little girls "little" for another year!
