ANyone know when the castke is due to go back to its original state? When is this Happiest over?

I just found this on abother site...

It will last for 18 months...so if I did my math right it ends 11-5-06.

Although your math is correct in my book, too, I emailed WDW some time ago and they said the celebration would now finish at the end of September! :sad2:

I don't know if the castle will be returning to its original state immediately or not, though. :)

We're so disappointed as we'll miss the Celebration by just over a week and we can't change our schedule as we're coming over from Scotland! :sad1:

The Happiest Celebration may have been extended. My ressie starts in November but AFTER November 5, and in the materials I just received yesterday (which is personalized to me, my kids, our resort, etc.), it specifically says, "You'll get to experience all your old favorites and best of all, join in the Happiest Celebration on Earth! It's the biggest bash of all, commemorating 50 years of Disney Theme Park magic."

We were there at the beginning of the Happiest (we arrived May 8, 2005), and we were actually kinda hoping for the Castle to be back to normal by this next trip, not having to take my 3 year old daughter to see Cinderellabration every 45 minutes, etc.

Ok I'm so dumb but what do you mean the castle will be back to normal? Also I thought the celebration went right through 06?

The castle doesn't usually have the gold accents, gold character statues around the turretts or the large "window" at the entrance to the castle. :teeth:

Here's hoping the celebration does go right through 2006 as our DD would love to see Cinderellabration! ;)

Given that the MK is celebrating 35 years come October, the decorations may well stay up on the castle, except for the mirror maybe. For what it's worth, it's clear that many of Disneyland's 50th decorations aren't going anywhere once the 50th celebration is over.

From everything I've read, Cinderellabration is leaving around the end of September. Personally, Cinderellabration is worth watching if A)you have a child who absolutely loves the Princesses, or B)you're a guy with a crush on a Disney Princess. My brother and I both enjoyed the show, mainly on account of seeing some beautiful Disney Princesses, while my 18 year old sister didn't care too much for it. The show is clearly aimed at little kids as it has no real plot. I suspect it's really a plot to remind little girls how much they love Princesses, so their parents buy more Princess merchandise. So, if you like watching Disney Princesses dance around, go for it. If not, don't worry about it. You're not missing much. And for what it's worth, if you want to see Cinderella, watch it from the right hand side of the stage. If you want to see the others, watch it from the left hand side.

:rotfl2: Funny but I can see how that would get old!

The Happiest Celebration on Earth ends September 31st....the next celebration is Walt Disney World's 35th! A CM at EPCOT told us that the 35th celebration for MK and WDW will kick off October 1st!

I was thinking in the way of avoiding planning a trip when the castle was "under construction." Hate those green fences! But I would like the castle back, been there seen that :)

So what will be different when it is over?

What happens after Cinderellabration?

No one knows for sure. They may either keep it, bring back the last show Cinderella's Surprise Celebration, or something else. I wouldn't mind seeing CSC again. I loved that show (I do like Cinderellabration too, however).

September 30, to be precise. It was originally going to be an 18 month long celebration, but they have indeed shortened-it shortly after it began.

what celebration is next in wdw? :smooth:

That is a very good question. I have heard mentions in passing on other sites that there might be some sort of celebration of EPCOT's 25th anniversary (2007), and I indeed hope that is the case, as EPCOT is my absolute favorite of all the parks. But I can see Disney going with a more "global" 35th anniversary celebration of the whole of WDW.

Anyone else hear anything about a 25th anniversary EPCOT celebration?

This'll be interesting . . . we'll be there Nov 3-12th, and at this point I have NO idea what the heck we might see. XD

I wouldn't mind seeing the gilding on the castle when we go in Oct. We went a few years ago when the Stitch ride was opening at the Mk and the castle had been TP-ed by a mischevious Stitch! I thought it was funny but......I can only imagine there must have been a few new visitors and princesses thinking - UG!

Hmm.. we leave Sept 30 and will be there til Oct 6. I am really hoping they do not have the castle unders construction the whole time we are there..lol I really do not want to see things up around it the whol time. :(

I am all for a new celebration though. Always fun!
