When do your kids start school?

August 2 here in Middle Tennessee in a county near Nashville. We are on a "modified" calendar. Two weeks off in October, two weeks off for Spring Break and 2+ at Christmas. Taking advantage of that 2nd October week to see Mickey!

Here in Barbados most schools go back around Sep 6 or 7. Most schools aren't getting out til first week of July - our summers are much shorter than most of yours holiday-wise.

Here in central Vermont schools start back 8/31. We get out for the summer on June 17th. Short summer this year.

We live in central Indiana. Our schedule is exactly two weeks earlier than my3princes - we start Aug 17 and end June 3, 2005.

Here the public schools start back Aug. 9, some of the private schools are starting earlier. Yes, the schools are air conditioned!

My district goes back August 24th with a planned ending date of June 2nd (with no snow days).

2+ weeks off at Christmas and 1 week +1 day at Easter.

My kids go back on 8/12. Going back to WDW for fall break in October.

In Austin, Texas we go back August 16. I think most of central Texas goes back around the same time.

We are also in the middle of school construction. The kids are getting out on June 9th and will not go back until Sept. 20th! Yes, 14 weeks at home to look forward to (LOL). We decided to take an unexpected trip from Sept. 4th - 15th. I think we will all need a break by then and it will help them get through the next year when we will not have any breaks and have to go until the end of June to make up the days.

I hope I can keep this a secret for at least until the beginning of August when they start getting on each other's nerves.

My kids aren't in school yet, but the schools here (SE Ohio) will be starting around the by 3rd week of August, maybe even the Friday before (so they can play that first football game).

August 9 here. Our schools ARE air conditioned although there are still a couple older ones that use some window units. I work in one of them!

We start back here (Mississippi) on August 9th. Teachers (that's me) go back on August 4th.

We are in private school in GA, we go back August 11th. Most the public systems start earlier in August around the Metro Atlanta area.
