When do your kids get out for Summer?

Here in Philly Public Schools: Kids done June 18th. Teachers have to go until June 20th. They go back the Tuesday after Labor Day.

Pending now snow day the students are done June 4th and as a teacher (DH teaches 7th grade and I High School) are done June 5th.

Our school gets out on May 30 (as long as there are no snow days used).

I was possibly thinking of a quick trip to WDW on the day the kids get out of school. Does anyone know how crowded it is expected to be? What about the weather?

I have heard that memorial weekend/week is one of there busiest but that question may be best asked/answered on the themepark board.

I live in upstate NY (near Albany) & my kids get out June 26th. You could always do what I'm doing...take them/her out of school to go. We're going the 1st/2nd week of April & "spring break" (for us) is the 3rd week. Not for an age issue, just hoping it's not as crowded!!---& we saved about $300 :)

Our school in Michigan gets out the second friday in June. I think it's the 7th or 8th. We start again the day after Labor day.

Our school gets out around the same time. May 23rd or around in there. We are taking the kids out of school the first week of May for our first family trip for the same reason. The 2 year will still be free before he turns 3 in July and the 9 year old will still be a "child" before he turns 10 in October. You don't also have a 5 or 6 year old do you?

:rotfl: I DO! Well, sorta. I have a six year old and one turning eight at the end of this month. I know...crazy. Four all together. Three girls with a boy bringing up the rear. Enjoy your trip! We went this past Sept and are totally addicted! Must get back...must get back...:woohoo:

Here in central MA - last day of school is June 23, first day is the Wednesday before Labor Day.

Houston, TX here. We started the last Mon in Aug (state wide mandate, I thought) and we get out the last week in May. Different districts in TX get out at different times even though we all started the same day (unless private school) due to different break times, etc.

Yup, TX passed a state law where you can't start school before the last week of August--to promote tourism :confused3 ; you can barely walk outside in Texas it is so dang hot!!! So now instead of getting out in nice enjoyable May (and starting early August) we now get out June 5th.

Northeastern PA, here. Our last day is currently scheduled for Friday,June 13 if we get no more snow days. We have already had 4 so we probably will get 3 or 4 more. That brings us into the third week in June.

June 28th, but depending. Administrators work the last 2 business days in June and we (teachers) are off for the summer 2 days before they are. So, this year it is the 26th since the 29th and 30th fall on a weekend. So we end the 26th and they end the 28th. Kids end the same day as teachers. I teach high school so we have exam time (NY State Regents) and our classes end earlier then elementary and middle/junior high schools, usually by around 2 weeks.

My son goes to nursery school at a private school and they end a few days before pubic school (the school goes up to grade 3).

Our students go back to school for the year the day after Labor Day.
